I have a desk top computer at the moment mainly because it was cheaper to purchase a few years ago than a laptop. I do dream of buying a laptop one day though so I can sit outside when the weather is fine to do what I am doing now.

My thoughts exactly. I would love to be able to sit outside to finish the tasks that need to be done on the pc.

laptop and desktop computers - the comparison is hardly worth the paper since there are tastes for each item and different purpose for each item
laptops are mobile. Desktop has no battery and probably more storage. If you buy the right laptop it will be a bit faster than a desktop, but be willing to pay a higher price. Not enough places to plug one in yet and the wireless availability is in not enough places. Home is more comfortable when you are computing on your desktop.

The advantage of a laptop is that you can take it wherever you want and now with technology the way it is you can access the internet on it as well while traveling. That is why I plan on getting a laptop next. You certainly don't want to haul a desktop everywhere you go or on vacation with you. Plus a laptop takes up less space than a desktop.

Laptops are portable, desktops are not generally you get more hard drive space and a faster CPU on a desktop pc. The good points with a laptop is you can use them in a broadband enabled area such as trains etc. I have never had a laptop of my own but i would love to have one, they are good if you work abroad etc or you get the train or the bus home as you can do your work on the way.

A laptop usually runs on a single battery which can charge the battery while eventually supply power to the computer itslef. They contain components which are similar to the desktops . But laptop computers can be used even if there is no power or can receive internet connection on hot spots with bringing the router or modem, since they have wireles lan card which is more lighter and smaller. Desktop computers tend to have limited battery life than laptop computers since desktop is optmized for power usage. Though laptop's upgradeadability is limited unlike desktop computers. you can refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/laptop_computers

It would be lovely to have a laptop computer that you could bring outdoors when sitting in the sun. When at the office, if you were to have the option of bringing a laptop outside, I feel that you would be able to perform your job better. Breathing in fresh air, having the warmth of the sun on your skin is healthy (of course wearing sunblock to avoid skin issues).

Laptop is not good option when You need to work something all day.. They are designed for work on it short time in a day.. couple hours.. It depends what kind on model is it.. Some laptop modelas are heating to much, in others words hard disk in laptop working then with high temperature then usually.. Laptop are mostly used for services on some devices, like I'm using it..But people like to have laptop at home and use it like PC.. So If You gonna using some P4 laptop with speed CPU You can count to change Your Hard disk in two Years .. New hard disk for laptop cost about $100.
