What is the most horrible thing that you did and regret

I killed a cat

We had spent a lot of money buying food, rent, phone, electricity, car repairs and registration as well as furniture repayments for a relation. We visit her, bought enough food for 3 months and she supposedly showed us all her outstanding debts but as she didn't need to buy any groceries, we told her to pay off her bills. I froze all the meat, blanched and then froze vegetables etc as well for her and her 3 children plus her boyfriend. Only a month after this happened, I got a phone call to say her furniture was going to be repossessed. She hadn't paid anything at all and the last payment was made by us some 3 months earlier. I told her we couldn't afford to give her anymore money so she either found it herself or let them take the furniture. It was a horrible thing to do but I think regret is too strong a word for how I feel about it. That was 7 months ago and I haven't heard a word from her since that time. Sad about the whole situation, yes, but no real regrets because she wouldn't do anything to help herself.
