Do you have a favorite book series? If so what are they and why are they your favorite? I don't get to read as much as I use to except for email and forums lol. But my favorite book series is the The Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I love her way of telling a story. We plan on sharing them with my daughter. Please no one word answers. I'll read and rate each response. I'll try to answer where I can but want to say thanks in advance for all responses.

hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - don't panic!
My favorite books and favorite series of all time are the "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" series by Douglas Adams. This is a sci-fi/comedy series that is greatly loved and has even been adapted to movie form in the last few years. There are books, an original radio play series, and also a television series based on the books, most of which originated from Britain, where the author is from. I love Douglas Adams! He is, by far, my favorite author of all time!^_^

For a true series, I really enjoyed the Stainless Steel Rat series of sci-fi books. They were both fun and funny. I also enjoyed the "Sword of Shanara" series by Terry Brooks. These were fantasy books that were overall well done, but I thought the last of the original three was a bit strained in the story line. He has since expanded that series. But the best to date is a series that is only two books long right now. They are written by an author called Tananiereve Due. (I probably mispelled her first name). The first book is, "My Soul to keep" and the second one is "The Living Blood". They are spooky stories about love, trust, and an immortal whose pact of brotherhood must keep their secret, even if it means killing others to do that. They are great books. I'm hoping for another sequel!

Little House on The Prairie Book - Laura Ingalls
Oh I used to LOVE the Little House series. My daughters never got into them though. It's so odd because they were so wonderful for me growing up. I think it's the generation though. I really enjoyed the Dean Koontz series about "Odd"... the one was called Forever Odd and then the other I cannot for the life of me recall the name. I have read many of the Janet Evonavich series One for Money, etc. She's up to like number 13 I think now. They're good but get old quick if you read them all in a row. I don't think anything will ever match the Little House series though. They were so well written.

The Harry Potter series. I just love them and enjoy reading them over and over. They're extremely well written and captivating. The characters are well rounded and very interesting. I thank JK Rolwing for writing such wonderful literature!

I don't read much, but I read some interesting books a few years ago. I really love all of the Animorfs books. They are small and interesting science fiction books. They are about a group of children which gets the power of shape shifting in order to fight alien parasites which try conquer the earth. I really love all of the science fictions.

I loved the Little House books when I was growing up, and I devoured Nancy Drew books as a kid too. My absolute favorite series now is Harry Potter. I started reading book one when I was pregnant with my son in 2002 and I was hooked. I have read all six books multiple times and will certainly go through the series again before book seven comes out. I don't know if this really counts as a series, but I love Rebecca Wells' YaYa books (The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood etc), and I have noticed many recurring characters through Fannie Flagg's books and I get a kick out of seeing them go in and out of the different stories.

My favorite series has been "Earth's Children" by Jean M Auel. I look forward to the next. Her words bring you right into the story. You feel the cold of the weather, smell the smoke of the fire, feel the fear or joy of the characters. I highly recommend this author to all.

Little House Books were one of my daughter's favorites, along with Anne of Green Gables. I personally have a fond spot for CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia--could be because of good memories sharing them with my kids and with their friends.
