I don't believe in it and unfortunately it is so rife in our country (called muti (black townships). So scary.......Do you believe in it? Is it practised in your hometown/country? Do you know of anyone who's experienced black magic?

In a sense I do believe in it, and I do believe that there are probably people who can do it genuinely, but I think the situation re black magic in South Africa is SOOOOOOOOO awful! I had a really, really super-intelligent Zulu friend, a guy my age, who fully believed in black-magic and he believed that the lynchings going on against 'witches' are just and necessary. I asked him about a report I saw where a school had been experiencing some problems, so they brought in a Witchfinder, who went into a trace then dances around in a 'circle and eventually pointed at the 'witch' who was responsible. This person was then lynched. My super-intelligent friend believed that this person was legitimately a witch and deserved their punishment. To me its obvious that this person was a scapegoat! I know that there are whole 'villages' of accused 'witches' living together in places, in fear of their lives. The other aspect of the whole thing that really bugs me is very poor people obviously being conned. For example the stories you hear of people being given muti to make them 'invisible in battle'.... Oh, the other thing that bugs me is when people (and other species!) are harmed in the name of muti. I mean the 'harvesting' of body parts.... yuck! That said, I do think that in amongst all this mess for profit, there may in fact be 'genuine' sangomas and inyangas who are in fact genuinely able to help people. But I think they are a totally different story to the 'Witchfinders' and the fake muti-makers.

That's true hey...there is always good and bad in every situation. Like i'm sure that there are good witchdoctors who can assist there communities in different aspects but where it takes a dark side..urrrrrrr just sends a chill down my spine. Read an article recently that made me sick to my stomach. A 4yr old girl was killed recently and they found her body floating in a river face down. On discovery certain body parts had been cut away. about 2 weeks back they got the guy to take them to the spot where her body parts were hidden so that the family can finally have closure and bury her 'complete'. Her body parts were cemented in his hair salon!!!! I mean really now...not sure how it works but his muti was something along the lines of eyes plastered so ppl will see the beauty of his salon, lips so ppl will talk and i stopped reading then. It's inhumane, disgusting and just SICK!!!!! Cannot handle things like that.........

OMG OMG OMG..... That is just too awful... It's also sickening that someone would be prepared to kill a four year old girl for the supposed sake of their business...
