My kitty found a home!!!

Well a few days ago I posted a discussion about the shelter that said they couldn't take my cat because she was too ugly...as obsurd as that sounds whats even stranger is that the woman called back yesterday and said there had been a mistake and that they could take her. This call came noy45 minutes after I had reported her to her boss. So I declined to bring her there and told this woman that their services where no longer needed. My sisters mother in law just cameto get my cat, Jill, and take her to her new home. I feel very good about this placement and very relieved that it turned out the way that it did. I can only imagine the life my cat would have had to endure at the hands of a cruel and incompetent worker in that shelter. Thank you all for your feedback and support.

Wow! Nice that you found a new home for your cat, also nice to know that you reported that woman. Don't know her and haven't seen her of course but I feel like she is ugly inside and maybe outside too, hehe! I was affected on that post. At least you know your cat's new owner and you can even visit her. Thanks for the update.

See, a little action, if you you don't think it'll do much good, usually does. I suggested calling Peta. Someone said they couldn't do anything and I said it wasn't about what they could and couldn't do, but about having something like that on the record! And what yoyu did is another example. This woman will never do that again!

Have you thought about reporting that shelter to somewhere? I'm not sure if a BBB is right, but perhaps an animal protective organization?

well, it is good that the cat found a home elsewhere. she probably wouldn't have gotten taken very good care of at that shelter, because that woman is probably angry at being reprimanded br her supervisor. so, hopefully your cat does well in her new home :)

Thank God your baby found a good home, I don't advocate someone losing a job but for the love of God that woman (and i use the term loosely) really should NOT be working in a shelter if she feels and animal is too ugly. I hope all works out for you so that you can some day have your kitty again. Best of luck and be blessed!

Unfortunately, there are just so many cats out there. If you want a shelter that doesn't discriminate, you're looking for a public shelter that is likely high-kill. These shelters will take in any cat. But if you have a black cat or some other undesirable cat, it is very unlikely that cat would make it out alive and be adopted. The sad thing is, there are just too many cats and too many stupid people not spaying/neutering their pets.

I read your article the other and responded, I am glad to hear that you found a home for your cat and you feel good about the home. It is also good that you told the lady you did not want their services becaue they probably would not have treated your cat very well. Way to go on reporting her to her boss.

A lot of people that don't like other people actually treat animals very well. After handling a cat rescue's surrender line before, I couldn't believe all the stupid excuses and threats we got. People would say they'd just dump their cat in the foothills if we wouldn't take it.

I am so glad you did not leave your kitty there. I hope this person is given the boot right out the door. I would be sure to let everyone you know about this in case she is still there. I am glad you found a home for your cat.

good for ur kitty. well here in chennai, india. if i find some helpless cat i call the BLue Cross, the home for animals. infact a cat near my home had some infection and ousss was oozing from her chin so i called them and they took her treated her and out back in same area. well do u know that cats can adapt only to their own places and if put in new environments and any other cat is there ...it would firce out the new cat .

I have to say I'm a bit shocked by that "it's too ugly" thing. Lucky for her, you didn't sue her. You've made the right decision, keeping the cat for your sisters mother-in-law to take. Congrats! Good judgment!:)
