Ah! My cat shelby has had fleas for sometime now. I have bought flea powder from the store twice and even given her bath and held her up to her head in water fr seven minutes so the fleas would die. It is like the fleas can resist anything. I have vacuumed and revacummed everything in my house. Does anyone have any information that would help my get rid of the fleas on my cat!

Hey there. Try something like Advantage: http://www.nofleas.com/ It's a sure way to get rid of fleas and it's very easy to apply. Bathing your cat doesn't really work and most cats don't really like it. But make sure that your cat is old enough to use this kind of product or that it doesn't have any diseases. Check with your vet first just in case and read the instructions that come with the Advantage tube too.

To say that cats don't like being bathed is an understatement. Have bandages and brandy handy if you try it. The bandages are for wrapping up your slashed and bitten hands and arms and the brandy is for settling your shattered nerves afterwards :-)

Advantage works really well. My cat got fleas after a stint in the vet's office (I was really ticked off she got fleas there, by the way!).. I tried that stuff, and it got rid of them and kept them away!!

One thing you can use is add a little brewer's yeast to your cats food everyday, not much just a small pinch. Fleas are hard to kill and I know many people get their homes sprayed for them.

You will have trouble for some time. You will probably have to give your cat a flea bath for a while. Also put on a good flea and tick collar on her. Vaccuuming you house is a good idea, but dispose of the bag after each time. You should also get something to put on the carpets, to kill any remaining fleas. This won't penatrate the eggs, so you will have to do something until all of the eggs are gone.

Hi! Just got over a similar problem with my cat. We got a flea comb and combed daily. (be prepared to dip the comb into a bowl of very hot water after each pass through the cat's fur). We put Sevin dust on the carpets, waited for a few hours and vacuumed it. In the end however, we had to get some pills from the vet...as we just couldn't get ahead of the fleas. The vet said that we likely never would have...as they were hatching from eggs as fast as we were killing them. New fleas hatch every 4-7 days!

Hi, use dawn dish soap to give her a bath.. put salt in her litter box.. if you have fleas around the house, sprinkle salt around the carpets and where ever else and then vaccuum it the next day.. I always sprinkle salt in the litter box.. you will notice they will go away shortly
