I used to not like coffee. I liked the smell, just not the taste. Then, I went to Spain in college for a semester and everyone drank it there. I decided to try it. I started out with cafe con leche (coffee and milk) and added lots of sugar. The coffee there seemed not to be as bitter and I began to enjoy it. Now I like coffee as long as I can add milk/cream and sugar to it. I also like the fancy coffees that coffee shops have like mocha lates and macciatios. What about you? do you like coffee and when/how did you start drinking it?

i started drinking coffee since i was a kid-about 8yrs old. i really like the taste and its my favorite of all beverages. maybe its because back then we're living in a province where coffee been is harvested. our whole family was a coffee drinker, but we only drink brewed coffee, no milk, just sugar, but we all love it that way. when i was in highschool, i started drinking instant coffee. its not that delicious as the brewed one so i add some creamer to become tasty. i never add milk on my coffee coz i find creamer more delicious than milk (just for instant coffee). now that i'm already working, i tried coffee at coffee shops/cafe, it was so great! and you know what? i cant push my self to drink instant coffee now(of coffee that i only made by myself) i cant take the taste anymore. i used to drink coffee at starbucks. so so so delicious!!! i like both hot & cold.i always buy white mocha for espresso, and also like caramel macciatos, but my favorite is the toffee nut frappe, but its only seasonal at starbucks so i replaced it with caramel frappe when it was not available... i really love their coffee!!!! i'm so addicted!!!

I think I was probably about 15 or 16. We were at a church function. I was with my sister. She got herself a cup and asked me if I've tryed it. I said no, poured me a cup, to a taste and said eww! She said well, you gotta put some cream and sugar in it. I did that, tasted it again and I was hooked! My favorite is Gevalia.

I wasn't allowed to drink coffee until I was 12. I started with 3 sugars and milk in it. The first time my father saw this he shook his head saying.."if you're going to drink coffee, you should drink it like coffee not coffee milk" So I gradually cut down the sugar so that soon all I was using was just enough sugar to cover the tip of the spoon. After a year of that I decided, why bother with that little amount of sugar? So now I drink it with no sugar and a little half and half or lt. cream.

I have always liked coffe but was never a big drinker until this winter. I started having a cup every morning and liked to make my own mocha's but could never finish the whole cup. Now, I will drink at least a cup and then some. I used to tell my husband that he shouldn't drink so much coffee(he has always been a big consumer) but now I am doing it too. Sometimes I may even drink more often than he does. I have to at least have plenty of sugar in mine but like I said, I like to make mocha's with coffee and hot cocoa mix. I also like the drinks from an espresso hut every now and then...can't afford to do that all the time though. It's a splurge when I do. I like the flavored "steamers" at the gas stations. They are good and much cheaper than one from a coffee hut. But even at that...when I can't get one of those I go home and make my own with what I've got. I don't know if I'm addicted or at what point a person does get addicted. I do notice when I've gone without coffee for too long though. I never thought I'd get like that but now I am...would you call that addicted?

I don't exactly recall when I started to drink coffee. I think I was around 17 or so. I've only had store bought instant coffee though I have it with some sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and soy milk. I don't drink it too often though, probably about 4 to 6 times a month.

I forgot to mention, I started drinking coffee because I felt quite exhausted, even after sleeping for 8 hours and I wanted sometime for energy. Too bad it takes about 3 times the serving for me to even start to feel even a bit vitalized.

I got a caramel macchiato from Starbucks today. I don't drink plain coffee at all and I really need the caramel in it to really enjoy it. This is the only coffee I ever buy and I just might be addicted. lol Oh, if Starbucks is closed we go to Dunkin Donuts and get their coffee lite and sweet. It is pretty good for plain jane coffee. I started drinking coffee in college but I am still not that serious about it.

I also did not like coffee at the start. I prefer other drinks. But I was sent to Netherlands for training. Everybody there also drinks coffee. There I started to appreciate the smell and the goodness of coffee. From then on, I learned to love coffee. In fact, as I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is drink coffee. It brightens my day and it has become a daily routine. I do not know if this is good or bad since now I consume around 5 cups of coffee a day. Well, I like it, it seems that I am already addicted to coffee.

Like you, I used to NOT-like coffee. I also loved the smell of it, and hanging out at coffee shops to get some of the desserts they sell, but I never drank the stuff. I get my caffeine from diet coke. This year I started drinking coffee as my diet coke could not get me through the mid afternoons already.

I used to be like you too and hate coffee. But I loved the smell of it. I didn't like drinking anything hot though period. But my husband started making me drink hot tea while I was sick. And I started to like it...from there i moved to coffee. I can not drink coffee black, it must have creamer and hopefully chocolate. lol
