telling lies

we all told lies at one point or another. i personally told lies because i didn't want to break someone's heart. one of my friends used to lie for the good of someone. i also had friends that told me that it's ok to lie as long as u say a small lie and not a big one. huh ?! small lies? such a thing does even exist? so the point is at one moment or another we all lied at least 1 time. i'm not going to ask u why people lie, but why do we feel we need to find an excuse for lying? according to the human laws, it's ok to lie for the good of someone, according to christianity laws there is no such things as small lies or big lies; a lie is a lie. so why we find excuses to lie and in what law do u believe here?

Everyone who lies is a child of Satan, and Satan is the father of all liars (John 8:44). We cannot remain indifferent toward our lies. We have to learn to speak accurately as soon as we believe in the Lord. Messages for Building Up New Believers (3), www.ministrybooks.org/collected-works.cfm

Nobody likes dishonesty (politicians, lawyers, salesmen). Better to keep quiet than to speak falsehood. Many people lie just to be polite but I would rather just smile than to flatter. Frank words can be uttered with grace.
