Prozac is not as good as it seems, I was prescribed prozac and the change in me was instant, they changed my whole personality for the worse, I became very moody and angry and then tearful and the longer I was on the tablets the worse I became, the consequences were nearly fatal, if you are offered these tablets please think carefully.

That was my same reaction to Wellbutrin. I was taking Wellbutrin for two reasons. 1. To help quit smoking. 2. Because my stress level was too high. And I must say, that while I was on the medication, I found that I did smoke less. But I could not continue to take the medication. I found after a couple of weeks being on the medication, I became hypersensitive and I would over react to things around me. I also found that I would cry and cry! I would cry sometimes for no reason. I really didn't have a clue as to why I was crying!!! My partner would ask me and of course it would just make me cry more! I had to stop the medication! And I will never take it again!

I am so glad you brought this up! Been there, done that, I became violent, confused, tearful and just a hideous person to be around on those. I started to self harm and would do anything to stop the misery. How I survived it I do not know. They say not to come off them straight away too but to gradually lower the dosage, I moved onto a lot of coffee and took a clean break from them, it was hard but I dread to think what could have happened if I carried on, I fear I may have really hurt someone, or myself. Seroxat has been found to make people murderers within a few days in several cases. I'm often quite depressed but I willnever take these tablets again as the side effects terrify me. Rescue Remedy, St Johns Wort and lots of coffee help me stay on top of the worst of it.

I am totally against anti-depressants, the side affects can be ten times worse than your original condition. I also had side affects like nightmares, mood swings, sweating, putting on weight and flashbacks. You also get withdrawal symptoms when you come off too.

I think sometimes anti depressants can work, but like yourself I have had some bad side effects, but I can't rule out ever taking them again, I would rather not take any, but there are times when in the past I have needed to. :( Thank you for your response. :)
