You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a drop off (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is another galloping horse. Both horses are also traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation? Please leave your guess to this riddle. The correct answer and the members smart enough to solve it will be posted soon. Think long and hard! Good Luck!

got a different version of it from: http://geeksmakemehot.com/archives/2006/a-little-riddle/ You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed. On your right side is a sharp drop off, and on your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the Kangaroo. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

well, if i were as the driver, i would turn my car to left, because it only have 18-20 inches, which i would consider save for my car

I would gradually slow down so the horse galloping behind me has to adjust the pace accordingly. Assuming the fire truck and the horse in front of me maintain current speed, they will pull ahead enough that I can get behind the fire truck and follow it. The horse that's behind me could then do whatever he wants.

I think the fifth responder got the correct answer. This is a great one. I would have never thought of the answer. Actually you are on a merry go round. So the situation is not dangerous at all. Even my son used to ride it when he was a kid. I ride it even now. Anyway if you consider the situation dangerous, just get down after the merry go round stops and enjoy the fun of the carnival.

Since al of them(car, horses, engine) are running at the SAME SPEED and in the SAME DIRECTION i see no reason why the situation should be dangerous...

make a slow signal so that the galloping horse's driver will have an idea that you're slowing down and maintain your speed as safe as you like it...girl you control the road now...lol...will this work in the real world? what do you think.

I would attract the attention of the firemen and ask them to give the horse at the back a good shower!! That would make it slow down, i can then move out of the way..

I'll press the honk to get the horse in front to move to the left (18 - 20 inches should not be a problem for a horse), then i'll put on the hazard light so that the horse behind will slow down and move to the right... then i slow down so that the fire engine can overtake me.... what abt that?

I will keep driving, why I must do something else, I dont have to slow down, or faster our speed, it because my car, and both of the horse have the same speed so we will never hit both the horse or the fire engine car. It's the right answer, Isn't it ?
