The new WOW expansion pack will be out in a week. I have a kid that is begging me to get up at midnight and go pick it up from the local game store. I'm old and need my sleep. What is it he finds so interesting about this game?

Game interaction. You get to interact with fellow players more often than not. I believe the objectives of this game are more incline to group effort than individual. With a gazillion subscriber enough to fill a city, it’s not hard to find somebody to interact with.

I know my son is in a guild, actually I think he has been in several. Last week he hooked up some kind of microphone that allows him to talk to his friends that play, not just type in responses. I can see where WOW allows him the opportunity to be creative. He's always trying to figure out what clothes look best and how to get from one place to another. I had to lol when I saw that episode of South Park that delt with WOW (I think it was SP). We had gone to see a friend about 2 hours drive from us and they had 5 or 6 desk tops in one room and everybody was playing WOW. How much time do you spend playing each day? What is resonable for an 11 year old kid?

Just wanted to let you know that this game is really addicting and alot of people lose touch with reality. Just wanted to let you know because I am a fellow player. I have been playing for about 4 months now and I found it really addicting, I've found myself playing it all the time. Recently I have been playing the game in moderation. The expansion should bring and new part of the world to explore and see and create new charactors.

I have been hearing about the expansion since March or April of last year. In a certain way I am grateful that it is finally coming out. My son recorded the Video Game Awards a few weeks ago and we have watched the WOW preveiw over and over again. It is addicting. Should I get up at midnight and go pick the expansion up or should I wait and get it on Tuesday with everyone else?

I am not a gamer so I can't understand the fascination that others have. Except for the games on pogo.com or something like that. But I don't play anything for very long at a time. However my son-in-law and oldest grandson who work on a seismograph crew and are gone for like 45 days at a time are both gamers. My 15 year old grandson and my 12 yearold granddaughter are gamers also. They drive my daughter bonkers with it. It is like an addiction with the games for them.

That game is totally addicting. It really got me going for more than a year now and the only reason I "temporarily quit" is because I don't have the means to play it right now. But I'll be playing it again sometime soon. But, as for your kid, he/she needs to get a hold of him/herself since it's only a game and we don't need to push that far for it.

My husband and I both play WoW...he plays as soon as he comes home from work and I play if I have nothing better to do. I like it but I don't think I am addicted. Anyway we have the expansion for both of our accounts preordered and already payed, but we have already decided we are not going to get it in the mittle of the night but wait till the next morning. We have made it that long without expansion we will make it for a couple more hours, besides if we would get it at midnight we would probably want to play it asap. So I think for an eleven year old you should wait till the next day so when he gets it he can sit down and play (after the download and patches...) To how long he should be allowed to play, I would say look at his grades in school and if he still has Real World friends. If his grades are decend and he still has friends that he actually spends time with, let him play as long as you think is right.
