Instant gratification combined with ignorance. Usually, the people with the luxury car in front of the apartment do not understand the ways of money. They do not realize that the money they put on their backs and in their cars has depreciated as soon as they walk out of the store with the merchandise. It's yesterday's news. They don't understand that when they pay rent they are giving the landlord a tax break versus when they buy their own real estate, they have equity and the money they invest themselves appreciates for them. Also, they probably are not willing to make the sacrifice to take their finances to that next level. These are the same people who say if they won the lotto they would buy a lot of things - a 10-story house, a car, a boat, take a trip around the world, take all of my friends on a cruise, etc. This means they would be broke in a relatively short time. It's all about training in the ways and value of money and learning how to invest and spend wisely.

Because besides their luxurious accessories, their heads are usually empty. I think you will never see a smart, but very rich man show off like these cheap people do. You won't even notice his wealth. Why? Because discression is one of the main aspects of being smart.
