Well where I am from you will see snakes all the time. If you dont like snakes def do not come here to Texas they are everywhere. There was this one time when I was in elem school and they had to put the school on lock down because they found a larg fam of snakes on the campus. I must say all the students where in a panic and none of us wanted to go home after the day was over. For the most part here you will just find garden snakes and they are dmall which cant hurt you but very rare do we inconter a big dangerous snake. haha I just thought about this my high school we were the Reagan Rattlers so there you go I am even a snake.

Actually I encountered one very recently. I was sitting outside talking on the phone and looked down to see a rattlesnake about 2 feet away from me. It was a very young rattlesnake (only one rattle) and it was being very still. I told the person on the phone I had to go, then I got up slowly found a broken broom handle and killed it. In Texas, they are just part of the terrain so we have had pet garden snakes, ribbon snakes and there are always bull snakes out at the pond. That was my third unexpected experience with a snake. The first was when I was 8 and found a huge garden snake inside a screen door when I opened it...I screamed and ran. The second was when I was fishing and a moccosin tried to steal my boyfriends bass....I laughed then, watching how fast that boy jumped in the back of the truck with me.

There were lots of snakes around when I lived out in the country in Florida. I've had a coral snake go right by my foot, and I had to get a snake out of my bedroom. I stood very very still while the coral snake went by, but the one in my bedroom wasn't poisonous, so I didn't have any problem getting it out.

At Mangalore, my native place, lots of trees and plants are grown in each and every house, because of excessive heat climate. It is natural that some snakes take shelter in the bushes. Many a times in search of food, the snakes wander in front of the house particularly in the afternoon. This is common for us and they donot attack people. Only when we trouble them, they try to bounce back. I had 2 to 3 times encountered snake and fortunately there was no problem.

I have not as yet personally encountered and live snake but i have already eaten a cobra, half-cooked, prepared and cooked by my drunk uncle when I went home to our province one time and my relatives chanced to catch a cobra. I didn't like to eat at first but everybody was eating and so I tasted it and hmmm... it's so delicious. In the Philippines, snake recipes are now served at some exotic restaurants.
