Star Trek Communication Possible?

I was reading an article the other day about pairs of sub atomic particles with spin. The theory is that if you were to seperate the particles and spin one then the other would spin in the opposite direction. The most amazing thing, the article stated, was that the 2nd particle would be affected immediately, independent of its position in the universe. Instantaneous transfer of information across the chasm of space, defying the light speed restriction on particles with mass. It was also mentioned that the theory was tested and is now a proven fact. Could we utilize this phenomena to construct communication devices a la Star Trek that convey instant messaging to perhaps our spaceships far from Earth.

Several years ago Australian scientists demonstrated a laser beam transporter. They fired a green laser into the device, and the other half across the room, recomposed the laser and it appeared to shoot out of the other receiving device. Where is this line of research today? I have no idea. But it was on the T.V. news.

I think it's still wouldn't be possible for now since it's still on a minute scale. But through time it will.
