What should we do to free our planet from terrorism? Human society, from origin until now, has always been at war within and between groups and has led to two World Wars. Presently, terrorism and low intensity warfare are affecting many parts if the world. As the current global population of 6 billion increases to 8 billion by 2025, national and international conflicts will continue to be a source of concern for humanity. When evil minds combine, good minds have to work together and combat. In this context, what are the out-of-the-box solutions to free the planet earth from terrorism? Your answers when processed and implemented can lead to a peaceful, happy and safe planet earth.

i think there is no really any good answer but jut education and good food and shelter for all is the answer...some peple are really bad they just use these poor and needy to do this bad works by paying them and giving them food ...i feel that if the peoples can be really educated and they have a proper job...and they give up their greed for more then only terrorism can be removed

That is the 64 Million dollar question, how to free the planet of terrorism? Hopefully if we teach and practice tolerance for all and reject all forms of sexism, racism, ageism, bigotry eventually we will progress as a species beyond the need of terrorism.

The answer to this is straight. Address the minds. Not when it is already formed, not when it is already closed, but when it is in the making. That’s where a teacher, a parent, a neighbor or a spiritual master, plays a role. As I believe lets go to ‘right campaigns and not wrong wars’. I think what’s happening today is, getting into wrong wars with wrong campaigns. We need to reverse this. Let me give you an example; all Singaporean Taxi Drivers are linked with crime prevention. To me this is a right campaign. Let me relate you a story of a man who complained to God of having sent them into such a violent, abusive and greedy world, full of counterfeit policies, plans, budgets, currencies and counterfeit human beings. God said: don’t you understand, I sent you on to this earth to be a ‘better you’. But you became a part of the problem and not the solution. A message which has stayed with me for long which I recall is, “EACH ONE OF YOU CAN MAKE A GREAT DEAL OF DIFFERENCE TO THE NATION—REPEAT THIS PLEDGE AFTER ME… That was a pledge to fight terrorism! I cannot say terrorism will be eliminated. All I can say is, terrorism will be contained and the world will be more peaceful for generations to come. And it will be a peaceful world, only when it truly speaks the language of Gandhi.

Terrorism will always exist, because there will always be a few people who believe that their means can be achieved with violence. 400 years ago in Britain, Guy Fawkes (a Catholic fundamentalist) tried to blow up Parliament when it was in session (the king, bishops, Law Lords and MPs were all in the building). Throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's, the IRA set off scores of bombs and killed hundreds of Brits (and they were financed by some crazy Americans, who justified to themselves the funding of terorism). As recently as 1999, Canary Wharf in London has a bomb set off (which killed two people and injured scores more) by the Real IRA. And then we had the 7/7 bombing of the Tube by Al-Queda. As soon as you solve one problem, another group of nutters arrives, with the same idea. We will solve the problem of Al Queda - but I expect that in 400 years time my descendants will be facing another form of terrorism. That's why naming the fight against terrorism a "war" means using the wrong terminology. It's not a conventional war that you can solve by bombing others in turn - bombing only leads to more bombing. The problems presented by both Guy Fawkes and the IRA were solved by politics and negotiation. I expect that's how Islamic terrorism will get solved too eventually.

Improving the lives of other people is the main one. Terrorist organizations flourish in places where there is a lot of poverty and hunger because people can see that others have all the things they lack. That kind of social injustice always leads to revolutionaries.

Terrorism has been around since the dawn of mankind. It cultivates in the minds of the extreme greedy and power hungry. Look at Hitler. What he did to the Jews was nothing if not terrorism. When we talk about terrorism, people always bring up 9/11. What about the embassy incidents, the mass murder in Rwanda, and the torture going on in Mexico. Securing our borders doesn't begin to cover the scope of terrorism in this country. Would that have stopped the Oklahoma City bombing? Or the bombing at the Olympic Games in Atlanta? I sincerely doubt it. Education is one thing, but I doubt we can eliminate something older than all the present empires of the world combined.

in this century where the world is developing fast, terrorism can be abloished only when we try to bring awareness among the people about the harmful effects of terrorism mainly to children who are the future buliders of the country..so thay can try to become good patriots and not bad terrorists

so u are asking abdul kalam's question. well i have not yet answered it in yahoo answers as i do not have a suitable answer but yes i think people who do this should themselves understand that terrorism is bad and can lead to destruction. i think terrorism can't be stopped that easily. i don't know how they are motivated to take up such tasks

I would say .. "War or Terrorism is a TEMPORARY solution of a PERMANENT problem .. " People should be made educated.. and made to learn moral science more in backward or under-developed countries . Countries like Iraq, Pakistan, Taliban etc.. in these countries .. not all .. but there are many terrorist activities .. because majority of the population is not educated .. not taught with the principles of life ! .

I wish there were measures we as a planet could take to stop the fighting but I'm afraid, because of our human nature and the fact that there is and always has been evil in the world, there is nothing we can do, shy of loving one another unconditionally. And that means everyone. That will never happen, though, unfortunately.

What is terrorism? The word terrorism comes from the now word terror. Who is a terror? Human nature is full of terrorism, many of terrorized our children, wifes, husbands, neighbors, relatives, tribal's men and country men. You cannot avoid or get rid of terrorism because it is in the sinful nature of man. The only way to get rid of terrorism is to get rid of mankind as a whole. If that seems impossible, then you have to manage to live with terrorism. One riligious quotation says "the heart of man is desperately wicked no one call tell" We all involve in one form of terrorism or the other, maybe the only way is to find a religion that can purify the wicked heart and nature of man. go figure out where to find that

I don't know if it is possible to free this planet from terrorism. Perhaps the world is meant to have conflict so we can experience something called "life". Why, I am not sure, though. Though conflict seems necessary, it does not have to include violence. It is all about tolerance. If we can teach tolerance instead of intolerance, acceptance instead of separation, it would be a much better place. Is it possible to teach love, or is it something some are born with at different levels within a soul?

I think, theres is nothin we can do to free out planet from terrorism, as we all know, everyone one of us wants peace, and most promotes world peace, but, the things is... leaders has different ideologist thats why they start war, religions has conflicts that leads war, greediness leads war, war has been everywhere, way back before time, even in the bible, war has been there, in our histories, and terrorism is just another form of it. Many terrorism, are educated, they've been educated and well trained to be a good terrorist. All we have to do, is to pray and keep ourselves from danger.

There can never be peace for human kind. There can only be a balance. Right now, I believe we have an imbalance. There is still ethnic cleansing in Africa and former USSR countries. Politics are going to have start being global. We need to have global leadership...not the U.N. America supports 80% of all UN/NATO everything. Other countries must step up to the plate and offer a percentage of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the UN/NATO.

We need to make the U.S. secure. That includes borders. This country has been lax for way too long. The problem is we react instead of being proactive first and when we do try and act first then people complain about that too. I would rather fight these battles on other soil and not our own. They say we are at war with Iraq but it's the soldiers that are fighting the war. We need to be a more supportive country in regards to our troups. The U.S. is divided as we have seen in the last few presidential elections but our democracy is also at stake. What we don't need is people like Streisand and her immature rants about the president. If she would have simply stated that she disagreed with the president but loved this county I would have respect for her. We need to build up our military like Reagan did when he was president. I don't want another 911 so I would prefer our country be proactive. People are saying that other countries dislike us because of the Iraq war. The truth of the matter is they didn't like us before and 911 was proof of that.
