Martin Luther King, Jr for non- United States Citizens

In the US, Dr. Mr. Luther King, Jr is a very important citizen. He has a National holiday which was January 15th (today) He helped many African-Americans fight for self-liberation in the 60's. I was just wondering what people in other countries learned or thought about him?
