If your pet had a serious illness or needed some expensive treatment or I guess, just if you want to spoil the dude - How much money are you willing to spend on them?

I really love my dog but I'm going to be honest with you I can't see myself trying to pay for surgery and all of that. Don't get me wrong I do love him but I really can't afford to have that type of undying love that would make me go completely broke by trying to keep my pet alive.

I can understand this sentiment. I think it is a practical response to a tough question, particularly if you don't have a lot of spare cash.

First of all lemme tell you, I don't like pets. BUT if I have pet I would do anything to keep him fit. Anything in this world which belongs to me I will go out of the way to keep it intact and safe. So i may spend even millions(which I don't have, he he) on my pet if it is needed.

For spoiling them, not much. My pets have way above average size enclosures and are feed the premium foods and all, but I don't spend money on cute stuff for them, or at least, not very much. But for veterinary emergencies, probably around $1,000.

I would spend as much as I could. I would borrow it if I had to. I think it is the responsibility of pet owners to be willing to pay for medical treatments if they are needed. I know a couple of people that wouldn't. I have a family friend that paid 45.00 to have her dog put to sleep because the bill was going to be 100 to 125.00 This person has plenty of money. That wasn't the issue to her. She didn't think money like that should be wasted on an animal. Nuts if you ask me.

i would spend as much as i NEED to. meaning, i wouldnt scrimp on food, vaccines, some toys, treats, grooming stuff, medications, and emergency needs. i treat my dogs as if they were my children. so whatever they NEED will definitely be on my priority list. if we aer talking about spoiling the them, i would only go as far as my spare budget would take me. im a bit of a shopaholic when it comes to my pets, so sometimes i go overboard that it reached the point when i would splurge for them and scrimp on my needs. hehehe.
