Do you sometimes feel the myLot staff are quite anonymous?

On other sites, the moderators and administrators tend to show their hand a bit more. I wouldn't have a clue who runs myLot, and all the messages they leave are anonymous. Anyone else feel puzzled/concerned about this? Or couldn't care less as long as it all works?

I cannot comment on other sites, since this is the only one I use, but my understanding here is that we are ALL moderators, and I like the idea. We are meant to be responsible members who report wrong use of the site. Late last year there was an enormous amount of copy and paste and some abusive language. Thanks to the constant reporting from myLotters and the vigilance of people like SKSOUTH and DoubleB66 and others, most of this has disappeared. We are able to message myLot with suggestions and some of these have been implemented in recent weeks. If we all reported wrong use, myLot would soon become what I believe it is intended to be: an open discussion forum where people can debate in a friendly, courteous manner on a wide range of topics.

Thanks for these comments, people. What you say, cloudwatcher, is worth noting - I hadn't thought of us as being the moderators here.

LOL The owner of mylot is pretty anonymouse, maybe he could be working with gov and are testing people online. we could be some sort of test settlement, Or the owner of mylot is like god, we have no clue who he or she is.

Some lateral thinking going on here. Let's see what more of a conspiracy theory we can make out of this! LOL Love both ideas.

I don't normally make a habit of replying to my own discussions, but I have to say that since I first wrote about not feeling as though I was being heard by MyLot they've emailed me and responded very well to my request. So good on yer, mylot! http://mikescrowlsscribblepad.blogspot.com
