Why's everybody into Starbucks?

United States

When Starbucks opened in the Philippines, everybody was like heading over to the nearest Starbucks to get coffee or hang out. Can't we enjoy brewing coffee at home? What is it about Starbucks that lure all those customers? Is it more of a status quo to be seen with a cup of Starbucks on your hand or something? And since we're discussing this topic, if you love Starbucks, what's your fave drink?

i never been to starbucks ever since but i just want to give a comment about this matter.. For me getting to that place is cool but boastful to me for those people who are carrying their coffee cup even it is not really hot or carrying the cup for saucy looks..

Yeah that was what I was thinking about before, cause the price is not very practical and it seems that there are those people that tend to use it to add up on their status symbol. I have nothing against those who really love their coffee, I myself have been getting a cup of Starbucks once in a while lately, it was just that the sudden boom of it and some people like use it to boast that they're like the classy ones. hehe

nah I don't.. You won't have to worry about that.. ahah.. I wouldn't be stupid enough to carry an empty cup around just to show off.. well except when I'm still looking for a garbage bin to throw it out.. haha

I'm a regular and loyal Starbucks customer- my favorite is the grande nonfat latte, extra hot. We have so many Starbucks in our area that I am spoiled. I usually get it to go and take it with me to work or in the car. Sometimes I'll relax with a cup in the store if I'm with a friend. I never thought of Starbucks as a status symbol at all. I know that they are a bit expensive, but so is McDonalds and people go there every day...

Yeah but i totally have no problem with that.. cause even if I'm now somewhat learning to appreciate coffee, I am still not a regular coffee drinker so I don't think I have issues with caffeine.

starbucks is very popular in the states before it came to the phils because of its excellent customer service, filipino love to socialize nd coffee shops is a hit. even tricycle drivers always have coffee in a small cafeteria or carenderia, that's very filipino, coffee session is part of their lives. just too bad figaro came later when it tastes much better than starbucks.

Sorry, I don't like coffee (or tea for that matter) so don't go into a Starbucks (or any other coffee shop either). Although, funnily enough, I do like coffee flavoured chocolates. I have heard that a lot of people who like coffee don't like coffee flavoured chocolates. Where do you stand on Coffee Flavoured Chocolate.

Well I am not very much into coffee flavoured chocolates, but I like coffee flavoured ice cream! haha! I guess we just have our own preferences on where we want our coffee.. haha

I love coffee... Friends called me that ´coffee´ is the only ´ideology´ for me...haha. Anyway, There is one coffee, that makes me enjoy Strubucks, called ?Kopi Kampung?. ?Kampung? means village, in my native language, and the coffee beans in ?Kopi Kampung? product, came from my village, called ?Sulawesi? (Celebes). Wherever i am, and whenever i missed my ?Kampung? i simply go to Starbucks for ?Kopi Kampung? and then inhale the coffee aroma..:-) Not complitely 100% the same, tho. But where else i could go, when i missed my village?...Kopi Kampung...:-)

Then that's great.. at least you get to taste your native coffee, though not 100% the same, whenever you want and you can still enjoy it even if you're not it your hometown.
