The life story of Helen Keller is one of the most fascinating I've ever heard. To have so much to overcome, and then to become so great, is so inspiring. She had guts and courage far more than most people. She never knew the words "I give up." She tried and tried, and learned and became someone so advanced (for her conditions) that it is just incredible. To be deaf and blind is something most people would have a hard time overcoming, but the spirit she had for life and learning is an inspiration to all parents with children who walk in her same shoes.

I very much admire Helen Keller also. I live close to Tuscumbia, Alabama where her birth place is. I have been there at least three times and will probably go again some time. I haven't got to see the play there during the summer based on the movie "The Miracle Worker" yet but I hope to some time. I love anything about history and getting to go her home place and see all of those things there is very interesting to me. It is wonderful how she was able to accomplish so many things.
