if we make mercy killing legal, what would be next, should we legalize killing abnormal or defective children too? then we shall be like spartans of long ago who kill their children because or due to they are merely weak, since they want only strong children to live.

I think a lot of people who need/want "mercy killing" are disabled people who need accomodations (like wheelchairs, personal care assistance, a new house), but can't get them. I think it's wrong to allow people to kill themselves instead of providing them services.

Ya.It should make legal. It gives the patient relief from pain and misery. It gives the relatives relief to see the patients' sufferings and their own misery also.

I would like it to be made legal. Some people will never get better and can do nothing but writhe in pain in their hospital beds and watch their families cry and want it all to end but if some kind doctor helps them out and lets them die, he is a murderer and gets arrested. That's not right. Just like with a pet, sometimes the kindest thing you could possibly do is let go. People love their pets enough to be able to let them go when it's time and spare them the pain, but do people not extend the same courtesy to each other? Why should people who have never been in pain so horrible and endless that they wanted to end their life tell people who are in that situation that they can't? It's not fair to the patients and it's not fair to the families and friends of those people who have to lie awake at night knowing their parent, brother, sister, or friend is also lying awake in horrible pain that will not go away as doctors prolong the suffering for as long as possible.
