I watched a show years ago about a family way up north who would cook real maple syrup and poor it on the snow to make a type of hard candy. I could really use the recipe!TIA

I've had this before. Maple Taffy =) It's actually really great. The recipes I've seen for it call for much higher temperatures (131-132 degrees Celsius). Links to the recipes: http://www.ontariomaple.com/fact-finding/pure-maple-syrup.html and http://www.nanjay.com/DillyDoodles/Christmas/SnowTaffy.html Make sure you use pure maple syrup =3

Well, i wouldn't know the recipe but that one sounds really tempting. Too bad we don't have any snow around here, otherwise I would have gone and tried it out myself one of these days :)
