Did you get accepted to your first choice college? I went through the 2 year program at my local community college with the understanding that if you graduated from an in state community college that you could transfer straight into Virginia Tech. I finished the program and was not accepted. What should I do from here? I don't even think I want to go to school anymore now (I certainly cannot afford it), but I can't find a good job without a degree.

That stinks! Did they give you a reason? My sister was turned down at our hometown school and after some fighting they let her in. They didn't have a really good reason and when she questioned it, they couldn't deny her. I don't know what else to say. I never went to college and a lot of people don't give much thought as to not being accepted to where they want to go. If you still want to go, they should be able to help you with grants and funding and you can probably bully them into accepting you. Unless your GPA was really bad, they will take you if you fight. They might not accept all of the credits that you earned at the other school, but they should let you in. Good luck!

No, no real reason, they just said the basic generic, "We're really sorry, but no".

What were your grades like in high school and college? You should discuss this with your counselor at school, and look for eduactional options. Unfortunately, I am going to guess you did not have stellar grades. College is all about proving you can work hard while making sacrafices... so if the grades aren't there when trying to transfer, you may need to look toward other educational options. If college is out, theres always beauty school. But you NEED some sort of education.

i didnt get accepted to the college i wanted to go to, studying the four subjects i really wanted to study. i asked them if there was anything that would help me get in. they said i needed to change my subjects to 2 subjects id never even heard of. i did i, got in on the course, had the best two years of my life, made the best friends ever, went away on trips and did really well on my course. there are so many opportunities for me now. ask the college if theres something you could do. it will all work out for the best.
