Cocoa Drop Quickies - Microwave Version

This is another one of those really quick no bake cookie recipes that are quickly made in the microwave. My family loves these also. They will harden better if you leave them overnight. I have also found that they do better if you do not put them in the refrigerator although you can do that to speed up the process. I have also published a discussion with No Bake Cookies -microwave version. Check it out also. Enjoy! Cocoa Drop Quickies - Microwave Version 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup cocoa 2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup chopped nuts 3 cup quick cooking oats Place butter in 3 quart microwaveable casserole dish. Place in microwave oven and melt 1 minute. Mix in milk, cocoa, sugar and vanilla Place back in microwave and cook 5 -6 minutes, stiring after 3 min. Mixture should be hot with sugar dissolved. Stir nuts and oatmeal into hot chocolate mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand until set or put in refrigerator to rush setting. Makes 36 cookies

This one sounds like a keeper too. I've only seen the ones with peanut butter in them. I just recently ran out of propane to cook with so I have to depend on my microwave. What perfect timing you have. And I am pretty sure I have all those ingredients. But with all these recipes, I hope you have some good exercise tips as well.lol.

I have lots of microwave recipes if you would like to have them. I must admit I have not tried them all and I usually dont publish recipes that I have not tried and trust.

Man, that is terrible. Winter is a bad time to run out of propane. Winter is for hot soups and other hot goodies.

I have a friend who was just diagnosed with a million allergies including wheat, corn, soy, and egg yolks. We are having a social time at choir tomorrow night, and looking at her allergy list I see that she can have everything in this cookie. Guess what I am making tonight? She gets really discouraged. Chocolate is our friend. :=) My hubby will love them too. We are trying to include more cocoa or dark chocolate in our diet because of the flavonoids.

It was great, the cookies were a hit. I actually stirred them up right before I went to work and then hubby spooned them out. He was good and stayed out of them. They taste soooo decadent with walnuts in them. I would love to have some black walnuts to use in them sometime.

Wow! that would be terrible to have all those allergies. I am allergic to MSG and the preservatives that they add in commercial mixes so I cook homemade with homemade mixes and it is so much better tasting too.Hope you and everyone else enjoy it.

My husband will love the idea of no bake cookies. He really doesn't want me to light the oven to "waste" gas. Thanks my for giving me a great recipe.

Oh wow! I made no-bake cookies (same recipe except no nuts) last night for the first time. I wish I had this microwave recipe then. I made them on the stove top last night...the microwave would have been SO much easier for me. The cookies were great, but I could have avoided standing over the hot pan stirring the chocolate mixture. Thank you for sharing...I am writing the recipe.

I love these cookies, I've had them without nuts at a friends house, but I never made them. I think the nuts will make them even tastier.I have to make a batch of these. Thanks

Sounds yummy! I'm a stay at home mom and I try to bake a sweet treat at least once a week. My son has a peanut allergy so we have to make most of our own goodies. Speaking of nuts - do you think your "cocoa drop quickies" would set okay without the nuts?

oh that sounds good too. I have made one similiar to this. Taste Of Home "Quick Cooking" Magazine -- my favorite magazines. they had a recipe where you take a peanut butter cookie mix and prepare as directed. Then take the cookies out when hot and push an unwrapped candy kiss in the middle and it sets up real quick while they cool. the kids loved them we made them for Girl Scout troop snack.
