it seems to be a specific collection of testing methods where not all of the included testing methods will apply. A testing methodology is specific to the tester, user and related details. e.g. software testing methodology will be used to generate a set of documents to be known as "Software Acceptance Test Plan for ABC by XYZ April 2009" The resulting document will define procedures (methods) to be used in testing said software. There could be 1000-page manual labelled as "XYZ Software Testing Methodology". From this document by XYZ experts, XYZ project specialists will create perhaps a 50-page document that provides details on how to implement the testing based on the methodology document, "XYZ STM" There's a saying: " a testing methodology provides the abstract guidelines and is too general to be of practical use. A set of testing methods is generated from the testing methodolgy for use in implemeting the specific tests given the specific situation." Cheers
