Some things that help me feel better

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after I had Rheumatic Fever when I was a kid. I had swollen joints and a lot of leg pain. The doctors told my mother to give me aspirin (this was in the late fifties) and said I'd be in a wheelchair by the time I was in my 20's. I'm not. I'm 55 and except for some joint pain and stiffness in my hands, I hardly have any trouble with arthritis. For years, I've taken glucosamine and chondroiton, extra Vitamin C, D and E, turmeric, milk thistle and I eat sardines in mustard sauce at least three times a week. Both fish oil and mustard are supposed to be good for arthritis. I ran out of turmeric a while ago and didn't get any for a few days and I noticed that my hands and one of my knees began to ache, so I'm thinking the turmeric really helps. I also drink unsweetened cranberry juice everyday. Maybe that helps too. Anyone else use any of the supplements I use?

Turmeric may very well be of help. I just saw my rheumatoligest this week and ask him about Turmeric. He found in one of his pill books that Turmeric has the same effect as predisone with out the side effects. As I am trying to come off predisone after being on it for more than 10 years I'm going to replace it with the Turmeric. I am also going to try Takeing daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Check out this website for more information (http://1stholistic.com/reading/health/health-honey-and-cinnamon.htm)
