Grocery day is always very exciting for my children . They love to see what I got and what they can eat right away . I like when things go on sale and there are different items that I will only buy when they go on sale . So the children are always excited to see what I got for the week .

Yes, exciting for them, not so much for me. We have a white board, so if anyone needs anything, they write it down. Peanut butter, ziplock bags, tofu, deoderant, etc. (i do not have time to do an entire household inventory) Then they are excited to see if I got what they wanted. I also only buy certain things on sale-poptarts, feta cheese, the "name brand cereal". So that is nice for them to see. I also stock up on things on sale, and I have to mark such items with an "X" meaning, they can only eat them when I say. (I do the same for holidays-mark christmas food with a "C", easter food with a "E" this makes sure I will have it when I need it.

Grocery day is exciting for the whole family. My husband and I look forward to it, because we've finished already what's stocked in our pantry, we can try out new stuff again. It is also exciting for my 2-year old because she gets to choose her snacks, and gets to ride in the shopping cart's built-in car.

Isn't it sad that your children mull around you like flies when you get home from doing the groceries? It doesn't matter if they have just been fed or I only shopped a couple of days before, it is still the same. At least it costs me less if I don't take them with me shopping.

I have an only child, who is 18, w/ a 20 mo old of her own. She doesn't like to go to the store, so her daughter and I go. She is good about helpin me put it away when we get home with it all. And of course, she's good at fussin if I forgot something. How old are your kids?

Grocery day is always exciting in our house. My kids are the same way, and they always have input too on what they want me to buy. Really, I guess I am the same way too though, I love to see how many "goodies" I can get away with buying, lol. I only do my groceries every two weeks so usually by the time grocery day comes, we are out of all the goodies so it's nice to be able to start it all over again, lol.

Grocery day is an exciting day for me and my kid neither. we usually go out for grocery twice a week. she loves to put things inside the cart where she can eat right away. She loves to put anything that she wants me to buy and that's why my bill gets higher. but I enjoyed it indeed because when she bought something like one of her favorites, she thank me alot even while she sleeps. hahahahaha!

At times, I let Aalia have something as we're goin around in the store. Its hard to know when to stop when you can only take so much at a time. I found out early on, its best to go shopping when the kids are in school. That way you don't have to fight with them in the store. When I worked in the store, we HATED to have women come in and have their kids screamin and runnin all over the store like indians. The LAST thing I want right now { 7:54pm } is food. whoof no thanks. Waitin for 9pm so I can sauna and go to bed. Hopefully sleep ALL night for a change. How grand that would be.

That is nice that your children enjoy grocery shopping and to what kind of goodies that you bring home to eat. I am sure they are hoping for some foods in particular. It is not an exciting day in my household nor is it a day of dreading, I do not mind it all and like it but do not get overly excited about it. I have to eat so it has to be done and love it when they have sales on the things that I enjoy the most.

It used to be. Now it's only exciting when we go to Whole Foods. And we only go there once a month or so. Less usually. At the regular market, we get the same old stuff all the time it seems.

Grocery day is exciting for me, because it is basically the only time that I get to be ALONE for a short time. My husband stays home with my kids while I go shop for the food. It is exciting for my kids, because they LOVE to eat, and I always bring them home special little treats.

Well I suppose grocery day wouldn't be so stressful for me if I went by myself, but I usually have a two year old and a four month old intow.. and my hubby comes too (thank God or i'd never get any shopping done), we go shopping every two weeks, so we have to have 2 shopping carts too. *sigh* maybe when they get older we'll enjoy it more.. right now it's a chore I don't look forward to.

Grocery day... I wish there was only 1 a week-- I should set a budget and go one time. We usually go on sundays for the majority of the groceries.. then again in mid week to pick up extras. Its not an exciting day! My daughter usually goes with me (she is 10) and she always gets to put things in she wants for school lunches and stuff.. then again we seem to stop in the week for other things for school lunches. Gotta get back on the plan of once per week-- planning out meals, and sticking with it! Would save lots of Cash!

Oh it is an exciting day in our house, I only get paid once a month on a Salary so we go stock up that one day and hope we did it right or it is one long month. The poor grocery clerks hate to see us coming as we are buying for a family of 6.

Being from a large household, shopping day is always a very busy day, it is a time when the whole kitchen is full of people, waiting to look into the shopping bags to see what I have bought and what they can eat first.

The kids like it but I hate it. We just moved to NE and the stores are different and they don't have the food I bought at home. I do the shopping durning the day when they are at school so they don't realize when I bought it.
