How much TV is too much TV?

I strictly limit my daughters tv watching time because I feel that there are much better things that she can do with her time. I have friends that use the tv as a babysitter to occupy their childs time so that they won't have to. So this is the question. How much tv is to much tv for a child lets say 10 and under? What do you think?

I allow my 2 year old to watch up to 2 hours a day (unless is Sat. he gets to watch more) some days he watches the full 2 hours, some days he doesn't watch any. I too believe alot of people use t.v. to watch thier children for them..and that's never a good idea.

There are so many other constructive things to do rather than watch television. My kids would get angry with me when I shut the boob tube off. But when I brought them to the kitchen to do a project they were delighted.

Yes, projects are good. I try to do projects at least three times a week. The other two we read.
