My cat is a carrier.

Sugar - As you can see Sugar has "catatude" lol She loves to carry things around all over the house. But she's my baby. :-)

My cat, Sugar, is a carrier. She will carry around anything that is small enough for her to carry. I've seen this crazy cat get small pieces of paper out of the trash just to carry it around. The only thing that saves us is the ring off of the milk jug. As long as she has one of those she pretty much leaves other stuff alone. What about you? Is there anyone else out there that has a cat that seems to constantly have something in their mouth carrying it around?

Carrying, in a female cat, is like playing with a doll. You know how cats carry kittens? She would also have seen people carrying their mysterious objects around, and maybe she's getting proprietary about having her own things. Be interested to hear what she does with a stuffed toy, or something easily carried. One thing about cats, they never get dull.

If the toy is small enough she will carry it around too. lol Just whatever is small enough for her she will just tote it around.

When my family had cats I can't really remember them doing this, but your cat sounds _adorable_! *laugh* I would love to have a cat like yours, I'd be constantly taking pictures of her carrying interesting things around, lol! That's just great. I love cute animal stories, thanks for sharing! ^_^

My cat is a carrier and a chewer. She loves to carry around her mouse toy (when she's not using her paws to throw it at me). She will try to meow with it in her mouth, too. She also will find any kind of plastic wrapper, and chew on it for hours. We always know where she is in the house, because we can hear the chewing noises.

Our youngest kitty, Wanda used to go into my daughter's room and steal all of her beanie babies to carry around the house. It's odd, but 3 of our 4 cats whent through a "beanie baby" stage. In Wanda's case, her beanie baby collecting was brought to an abrupt halt by the arrival of our shelties puppy. Skye (the puppy) promptly claimed all toys in the house as hers. Now, we have a daily power struggle game between Wanda and Skye over the toys. Skye herds them in to a sloppy pile by her blanket, only to have them stolen one by one by Wanda. It's a lot of fun to watch. Years ago, I had cats that would fetch the plastic tops from soda bottles. Unfortunately, my current kitties feel that's a stupid game to play and won't touch them.

I have noticed this happens a lot with siamese and other oriental cat breeds:) I shared a house with a siamese once lol, she stole jewellery and hid it, caught her one day with my gold watch:O managed to get that back off her. She was adorable but definitely a thief, a true cat burgler LOL

All female cats are that way, my girl, Goldie, is a carrier too. She loves to make a mess and she love to carry her toys around the house. It is a female thing.

I think it is normal to a cat to carry something from outside or from where ever they went. I think what you have to do is put your cat on a small room in which he will stay there for you not to clean everything he carries.

We've had our share of cats that will do that. Some are real kleptos. We had one that would steal dollar bills off the table in order to carry it around. Of course one would take the stuffed animals (only birds, fish and mice type) and carry them over to stuff into the cat carrier as if it were hording them. Cats are unique and they seem to like to carry things around and then have us try and find them.

That is indeed odd! I've never heard of a cat doing this ever before. Very interesting! I'm assuming Sugar is a female?

Mine carries her toys around the house. Many times she'll bring me one and drop it at my feet like she would if she had been hunting and caught a mouse. LOL...thankfully she's never brought me a mouse though.

Awww...your cat it cute! I missed my cats, I don't have a pet right now that's why. All I remember is that our cat loves to carry her babies and she loves to hide them somewhere else, like at the back of the refrigerator. She also loves to carry foods that she can find on our kitchen.

One of my cats once brought me a live mouse! We lived in an old farm house and I guess the critters came in for the winter. I suspect that your cat is exhibiting the same behavior with substitute items. She may just have a fairly strong hunter instinct.

My Mom's cat has brought her poisinous snakes...twice now. And they were still alive. So now she checks Bit's mouth before he's allowed to come in. lmao I would have killed him.

Alexis(white) Precious(darkgray) - MY fur babies. They are too cute.
I have 2 kittens. 1 male and 1 female, Precious and Alexis. Both have there.......odd things about them but Precious(male) does that with his own toys. We recently bought them these crinkly moush shaped things and he loves to get one and just cary it arround while biting it to have it make the crinkle noise. Alexis just likes to try to take it out of his mouth, it is almost like they are playing catch me if you can. It is really funny.

As soon as the ring off the milk jug comes off it gets thrown on the floor. My cats love them. Don't know where they all go. I do have one cat who is a night owl and stays up all night long playing. She carries around nerf darts. She also cries all night, I used to think there was something wrong with her but I found when I woke up in the morning there was always a pile of nerf darts and mice in my room. They are funny arent they?

My all time favorite cat was named Patches and she was a real darling. (I still cry sometimes when I think of her). Anyway, in the Fall she would gather fallen leaves and built little piles of them on the back steps. She only went out for a short period each day but she worked very hard and made quite a little pile. We always said that was her way of paying us room and board.(I still have a couple of those fallen leaves she gathered pinned to my bulletin board.)

Well I do not have a cat because I am very allergic but my chihuahua does this. She will open cabinets and steal my soft hair scrunchies. She has done it ever since she was a puppy. She will wait until I take one out of my hair and then she will go hide it. Now that she is older she takes them out of my hair when I fall asleep and she hides then in different places so I can never find them. It has gotten so bad that my husband had to buy me new ones for christmas.

I have 3 cats. Two of the cats are carriers. My cat Shadow likes to steal anything he can carry in his mouth. My cat Smokie likes to steal my daughter's Barbie clothes and the caps from soda bottles. I am constantly picking any little thing up from the floor. We used to have collapsable kittie cubes. Shadow would steal anything he could find and hide it in the cubes. I think the funniest thing that I ever saw was Shadow carrying a cell phone case for my daughter's play cell phone. It was blue with pink feathers. We called it Shadow's little purse. They both love the rings from milk jugs too. Now my cat Angel, I don't think I have ever seen him carry anything around. All my cats are male too. I just think it is funny to watch some times.
