I would take it to the police station and hope that no one claims it (there is a time period here) so I get to claim it.If someone does clame it,I would hope they have the decency to offer a small reward (or at least a thank you).

I would have said exactly the same as you lonewolfnan. A similar thing happened when one of my relatives found a diamond ring, nobody claimed it so she got to keep it.

So how do you think you will track down the owner if there is no id? I would look in newspapers for anyone who claims to have lost money.

I would honestly keep the money. I would see it as a sign that I was meant to have the money. I am in a bad financial situation right now and my bills are racking up, so I'd pay off my bills. Now, if I saw someone drop the wallet or there was an ID in it, I would return it. They'd probably give me some of the money as a reward.

I dont know. Probably i will end up having it for myself because if someone has so much money in the wallet he will surely be a rich man and can take a loss of this money litely. So y bother!

I would give it to charities. Atleast the money that is lost will be used in good ways.

We have a section for 'lost and found' items in our local newspaper, so I would hold it at least a week to see if anyone claims having lost it and could describe the wallet and/or other contents... if so, I'd return it... if not, it's ALL mine! Once, when I was 12, I found a wallet with an ID in it and cash. (only $60 but seemed like a lot to me at the time) I did the right thing and contacted the owner to retrieve it and was shocked that my good deed didn't earn me even $5 reward for returning it! I guess my reward was knowing I did the right thing ; )

I would take that money and go to Laughlin and hit the roulette tables and order drinks and tip the waitress more than I should and just have a really good time............ then I would snap out of that daydream and actually turn the wallet into the police department. I waould have trouble if I kept the money without at least giving the owner a chance to recover it.

so you wont try to track down the real owner??

If there is no ID nor any other contents that would help me find out who the owner is, I'd stay close first in the area where I found the wallet. The owner might just be there frantically looking for it. If there isn't anyone who fits that description, I would consider that wallet a gift from the heavens and keep it.

Keep it (lol). I will stand on the same spot for at least 10 minutes to see if someone will look for it. If nobody looks for it, I'll try to post a message saying...have you lost something? call ( my CP no). If someone calls, i'll ask him/her to identify. if no one calls, then good....the money is MINE (it must have been a gift from above - LOL).

if i find such a ransom amount of money i will probabily try to find if can return it to the owner..if cant recognise the owner then i will use it.. bcoz i feel giving it in the hands of the cops s useless as most cops use it for thier own sake..r else i will help some one suffering... wat do u say

If I find such a wallet than I was definitely not use the money for me.I would rather give it to the poor people the biggest, any NGO who work for the welfare of thepoor people and also would like to donate to those who really want that money but they don't have it I believe that using such money for says is not good. If you do some good with that money then even you get the blessed and also the person to whom the money belongs and I think this is not a bad thing to do money can come and go all the time but you should not use such money which you have not earned.
