for the time being right now i think RICKY POINTING is the best cricketer in world cricket right now because he is at his peak right now and he is also full of confidence as he is leading is team very good........

I think in both forms of cricket Ponting overrides anyone else.....He is in amazing form nowadys..... In every match he scores at an average of 50......incedible...

I feel if you take into account the last 17 years I feel Sachin tendulkar has been the most consistent and played the best at top level. But on current form for last couple of years Ponting seems to be at par with sachin if not better than him during this period.
