Why is it so hard for people to admit it when they are wrong?

I think they really think they are right. They hate for someone to think they are wrong because it lowers their self esteem and some of them think they are know it alls. I think some of them also are afraid to lose their pride and their dignity. some of them also have a high ego and if you see it is black they will swear it is white, just because they say so or say it is, LOL.

Because they put so much effort into trying to prove themselves right, that once they finally realize they're wrong, they just did all that for nothing.

its hard for people to accept that they are wrong because of "PRIDE" and "EGO". They think they are self righteous. they cant accept the fact that they have committed a mistake. they are self centered. their pride and ego have blinded them to see that they are wrong.

I think it is both Ego and Pride. If your wrong your wrong and if your right your right! This is a good question because you see this so much in today's society and even among friends and family. People are quick to judge others, but can't even take criticism themselves.

I think it is both. I do not mind admitting when I am wrong because I just don't see anything wrong with that at all.
