Peer-toPeer Lending . . . Will it work?

I became a member of the new peer-topeer lending site Prosper.com a few months ago. I initially joined as a borrower to test the site out. After a few days, I decided to become a group leader. A group leader (GL) is a respected position on Prosper and allows you to create a group and bring in members for loans. My group is The Sturzstrom Funding Group at http://www.ProsperFiveStar.com My question to the mylot community is whether anyone here has used Prosper and does anyone believe it will work? It's certainly a social experiment. The real question is will it last and can it become as big as eBay (they call themselves the eBay of loans). For those of you who don't know how it works - ordinary people can go to Prosper and create a loan listing. Lenders, also ordinary people, can bid on their loans. The lenders get paid the interest and principle of the loan just like a bank. It's a pretty neat idea. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I have been doing it for sometime and it seems to work really well. You can check it out at www.prosper.com/join/baileycows Just remember your not going to get rich off this. But you will make a little extra income and give you some experience in lending and how to manage money.
