Unsafe to upload photos on Mylot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont see any reason as to why it would be dangerous there are millions of pics floating around the net...but if you want to upload some pics but are worried then open them in your paint program and add a watermark on them, could be a name or nickname or something like that...then there pretty useless for anyone else to use.

Yes, lot of sites pay for uploading the photographs but should be very carefull when doing that. Own photo uploading is not recommended in today developed world any type of masking/morphing can be done and create lot of abuses. In mylot too you can upload the photos which u have taken ( eg. natural scenaries, some typical creative photos etc http://www.shareapic.net/ref.php?onwner=arunk7319), there is site called shareapics.net, who pay for uploading the photographs. I have uploaded lot of photographs which I have taken during my visit to singapore and Korea and nowhere Iam present, all are natural scenaries or some typical photos. They do pay based on the number of views the photograph has received. Please don't ever post your own photographs.

There are many free image hosts(like photobucket and imageshack) that you can use to upload your photos. Also if you have art work, you can upload it to a community like Deviant Art and have others rate it. A easy way to counter act someone claiming your image as their own is to apply a watermark(a logo or text of your choosing) to the image. Really there are not many ways for someone to "misuse" a photo, unless you mean identity theft. in which case they can only do that if they have your personal information.

Its not safe to upload pictures on Internet.Don't upload pictures on Internet.If you or your friends or your relatives upload picture then they can be used by some mischivious person.He can modify your pictures.He can put your face on some ones body and put them as if it is yours.I don't know why i feel like this is not you this is picture of some body else and you just posted this discussion to make others aware of what happens on internet.

Well strike me down and trample my bones, I thought the pic here was you but now that you say that you never upload your pic it has gotten me thinking, yes people can misuse you pic but that was done a lot earlier, now-a-days no one bothers....go ahead and post your pic there are zillions or women/girls like you who have posted their pic

I only upload my pet's pictures and never upload any of my or my husband's pictures online. Your friend is right, you must be careful about letting people know your personal info and photos.

I don't feel something different about this site from other sites for uploading the photo/pics. Anyone can misuse the pics uploaded here by copying that. If you feel it is unsafe and you would be emberassed if the pic is misused my advice is not to upload your pic.These days anything is possible on the net.

I think just dont upload some personal photos like family pictures for once you upload the photo here you are giving the Mylot the right to let other views your photo and copy and use your photo. So only give those photo that dont have you and your love ones pictures.

Heya, I never upload anything that I would be upset about if it was distributed. I know that there are so many people out there on the internet who not only use your photos for something saucy but also for publishing as their own if they think it is a good picture. I do not think it is safe to upload your photos here or anywhere else on online unless you don't mind it being distributed, your friend is right. I get so surprised when i see personal pictures on here and I personally would not put my face on here. The pictures I have on my profile are personal to me but i would get over it if they were distributed. Tanika.

yeah..thats definitely right..me too, it made me think twice if im going to upload mine before. Alot of people might use your picture and do something bad in it. We can't tell...

posting photos here are unsafe, just as along no body else takes it which is gotta be a reason why.

Now u r talking like the indian IT law experts. If someone is really after ur picture, he'll come after u and take it. Neeways its jus difficult to stay away from harm nowadays.

Well, uploading images to the internet is a tricky situation. If you upload a photo anywhere, that means that someone can just come along and take it and use it for whatever they want. I have heard of people who had their images posted on other people's internet profiles, with those people claiming to be my friend. So she had her identity stolen. What I find is a good thing to do, if you don't feel secure, is to edit the photo. Put a caption on the image with your username. That way it is traceable only to you.

Why use the picture of the girl from harry potter? i mean people will believe its you and from what i've seen they do. thats also as bad imo The internet safe if you watermarking etc. I wouldn't say to much seen images are images, people picures are there own. a fan of hers right? *nods head

yes you are someextent to right. In the internet some people may misuse our photos, for which there is no action from any quarter. But mylot pays if you load photos more. Thats the reason people load the photos.

Well i think it depends on what kind of photo you are uploading into mylot yea .... if it is your personal photo then you better think twice yea

Yes...for me also have the same problem...For this u can copyright the photos and also have some another alternative method that not able to even save the photos/file also...Now i'm not able to recollect it now...

That is a risk you run anytime you publish information that it publicly viewable on the Internet. You should always ask yourself if someone could use the information or pictures to damage your reputation or steal your identity in some way, before you put it out there. If you think about it each time you put something on the Internet, hopefully you will protect yourself.

I guess this is as safe as it gets these days. My lot will have gone to the trouble of checking out how safe the site is first. As to using peoples photo's, it only the same as looking at your friends holiday snaps. We are all friends on here Shedii.
