Just give her some time she will probably come around. And give lots of attention.

I agree with badmonkey. It's going to take time for the cat to get over her depression. In the meantime, give her a lot of love and attention and understanding. That's about the only thing that you can do right now.

I've heard that if you speak your cat's name frequently when they are around, it can help them feel less depressed. Other than that, I can only suggest lots of petting and attention. She might feel better on her own in a little while. I'm sure she's tired after caring for her litter.

that happens everytime i give my cats kittens away. she really loves her kittens and when i give them away she spends a couple of days crying. i try to be with her as much as possible and to spoil her and give her everything she wants. after a while she forgets and is back to normal but those few days are hell for both of us because i feel so bad for her. im thinking of having her spayed because its heartbreaking every time we have to give her kittens away and we also get attached to the kittens because we look after them for so long. unfortunately i cannot afford to keep more than one cat :(
