If you have ever watched prospecting america, you will know that this club is the Gold prospecting association of america, when joining they give you a prospecting book with lots of good hunting spots.it has great places to hunt and gives coordinates to places to find gold. It's relatively cheap to join their club and very well worth it! krissy

Can you still find gold by prospecting? Is this something you would do in the western states? I was wondering if you make a living by prospecting? I have to give you credit, you seem to know everything about this activity. Hope you hit the mother lode someday.

This is very interesting. I have not watched it, and was not aware that you can still go gold hunting. I know about the Diamond Mines in Arkansas but have never been there. However all of this sounds like a fun way to spend vacation time or long week-ends. I will be looking more into this as I find it to be very appealing. Thank you for posting about it.

Yes, I think I've seen that show! Hubby likes to watch it, and I'm usually on the computer, half watching.. It's a nice sort of nature show, too.. and slower paced.. so it's relaxing to watch.

There is no problem finding a buyer for the smaller pieces of raw gold, but remember any nuggets are worth a lot more than the price of the gold as "Collectors Items". Jewelers will also buy nuggets, as they can make necklasses of them, and the Tourists will pay a fortune for them.

You have mentioned about prospecting and metal detecting a few times and I was wondering what your best financial find has been? My g/f and I will be doing a little goldpanning and gem hunting this summer and like the ideas /suggestions you are making.Thank you.

No I have never watched prospecting America, but that is great that they give you a prospecting book with all the information that you need to help you, I hope that you have found some minerals.
