Do you find yourself becoming disheartened here on Mylot?

I worry that I'm reaching a burn out point. I was really happy here at Mylot for a long time - but recently with my star rating dropping and my earnings dropping with it, I just don't know if I can keep up posting at the level that I was. I love it here, don't get me wrong, and it is still the most fun that I have ever had earning online. I have met some really wonderful and caring people here, too. But it is getting really hard to keeping posting the same amount and get paid less - and I still feel like I must have inadvertantly upset someone on here that has beem marking me with minuses and causing my rating and my earnings to drop, which is making me feel really bad. I find myself really feeling more paranoid by the day about how I reply to people lately, being even more cautious than usual - and I am already such a sensitive person... I just wish that I knew what I did to offend someone on here, because I would be more than happy to apologize profusely and take it back.
Anyone else feeling burn out like I am? Anyone else find themselves earning nearly half what they were before? I just don't know what to do. I really love it here, I love Mylot and the people and the chance to earn while doing something that I love, but I just feel so blah.

I know my friend that we all go through this, but blessed be your motivation will return. Maybe have a day or twos rest and come back to it, its what i did and I started getting the feeling back.
Yes I think there is a few people who seem to spend their time dishing out negative ratings, dont know what they get out of it. What i have seen of your responses and comments as well as your discussions have always been good and I for one always give you plus ratings and will continue to do so

Thank you so much ^_^ I've been considering taking a break, but I can't really afford to unless I can find another program that pays at least as much as Mylot does. I did have a 'forced' break on saturday where I didn't really get to post anyway because I couldn't get online. I guess that I will have to consider that my break, lol, because I already lost enough money not being able to work online that day, and I can't afford to lose more.
I truly appreciate every word that you said. You are so sweet, and i love replying to your topics and consider you a very valued member of the community, as well! ^_^ ^_^

So sorry to hear that it is getting to you. I feel like this is all I do and I just started. Now, the future seems dim at best. Everything is like that though. When enough is enough you know it. The trouble is not having a way to expand a change. The same old format could see me boring afte a bit as well. I hope to learn a thing or two from good folks like you first.

I haven't been posting the last couple days, mostly because I had to spend time studying for a big test (over and done with as of this morning!), so I haven't noticed a significant drop. Come to think of it, there was one day when I got about half of what I was expecting to, most of which was from responses. I hadn't thought much of it at the time... I think what I may end up doing now is post perhaps not on a daily basis, and try to post more discussions that have popped into my head in the interim. I don't really start all that many, though I know it's beneficial. I guess I'll see how it goes from there. I can understand how you'd be feeling burned out now, especially with your high volume of posting. But maybe it's time to just cut back a bit and wait to see if things change. :)

I am pretty new at this and i feel burned out as welli ahve been getting negative ratings as well and i try to answer as best to my knowlegde but i guess i am not like much around here, it makes me think cause there are many people in here so why me?

I actually find that it is easier to earn by just replying. My earnings stayed more stable when all I was doing was replying and not posting new topics. But a good popular topic definitely seems to earn one more. ^_^
I do wonder if a lot of people's earnings aren't dropping lately, now that you and one other person have mentioned not earning as much. But then there is someone who said she made over 5.50 the other day, I think.. so I am pretty confused.

solimari, I have not met you before on here that I know of, but I see no reason not to like you! I gave you a plus. I hope that it helps you to feel a little better. It is sad thinking that new users are getting discouraged too. I hope that you will stick around. I think that you will be surprised when you get to 100 posts and see your star rating, as you don't have one yet. I'm sure that you will have a great rating! ^_^

Recently I've been feeling a little burned out with everything. Work, school, and generally being online. I've been going through a lot of stress lately, and I guess that's why.
Mylots is suppose to be fun, and you seem like a really nice person. I'm sure your rating will go up soon. Maybe you could take a little break from mylots for a while and let the stress you're getting from it leave.
This could just be a bad day for you, you know?

Maybe, you are just spending too much time here. I have only been here a month but sometimes when I log on it's the same discussion started by someone else. Yes, the topics are popular but they lose their appeal. What I have been doing is searching for a topic. It's amazing how many original topics can be found. I'm not sure but to me it seemed I earned more when I found a NEW topic.

You know, you could be right, and I am trying to find original topics to reply to as much as possible. It's not always easy to find something that isn't similar to things that I have already responded to, that I also have an opinion on, though. But then a friend will post a new topic that I have not thought about replying to, and I'll be excited to reply to something new. ^_^

i too was surprised to see my last 3 days earnings.they are very little and very less than i usually earn.i thought it is only me who is having this sort of earnings as i saw in a thread stating a member who has earned over 5 dollars in a single day.my reputation has dropped from 10 to 9.so i think that may one of the reason for less earning.so trying hard to get back to the 10 star with good posts.

You know, I would wonder too if perhaps everyone's earnings weren't dropping if I hadn't read that same post that you read about the person who earned over five dollars. I am so sorry that you also have earned less :( I have given you a plus. I really hope that it helps you out! ^_^

I havent been on for a good three weeks, and made my grand comeback yesterday, because I felt like I was being personally attacked here a few weeks ago. I have learnt not to be so trusting, and so forthright with my personal life and my opinions.
In my opninion, the stars are merely a means of showing off ones "popularity" rather than a true indication of ones posting ability, and I think it is a system that is too easily abused mby irate members seeking revenge. I'm sure my rating will start dropping the more I post... :( Which will be extremely disheartening.

Megs, I am *so* sorry that someone was attacking you :( :( :( That really hurts me, to think of someone who seems as sweet as you getting attacked. I can't bear the thought of anyone being attacked like that. I hope that things are back to normal for you now. You get a plus from me. Wish I could do more for you. Your rating had better not drop! you don't deserve that at all. I'm supporting you! ^_^

Yes I get burned out at times. So I just slack off for a few days. This is why I am always harping on building a friend circle and respond to those discussions. I seldom respond to any other discussions these days. I have a lot of friends and I am building bridges with them everyday. I know the ones that rate and the ones that just discuss. I have never known of a star rating falling until you just said this. It is harder to get the money though. I am doing the same amount of post as usual and the pay is cut in half. Not sure why, but that is ok I will just try harder tomorrow. You can always be a chacha guide. It pays pretty good and steady if you have the patience to be trained.

That is a wonderful way to approach working here on the site, wmg! ^_^ I also have been responding mostly to my friend's posts. I can't say that I know for absolute certain which ones mark responses and which don't, but I definitely know a good few people on here whom I absolutely love replying to, and I really look forward to their posts each day. It's so much easier to find discussions that resonate with me by going through my friend notification emails, than it is going through the hot topics, lately. ^_^
It has also helped me to feel better hearing that I am not the only one who has a drop in pay lately, although I am truly sorry that it is happening to anyone :( At least it might not be as related to my star rating ss I thought, then. I just don't know. It's all very confusing. I still would love to get back up to a ten, though! ^_^

shywolf, I am stunned to see your star rating drop. You are the sweetest person on this site with the biggest heart. I can see how you would be frustrated. It is hard to come up with new discussion ideas and even harder to find new ones others have posted. It can be tiring surfing through all the posts to find something interesting to respond to. I do not count the number of posts I type, I just check my earnings every day to see whether I did less or more than the day before. If it is less, I just figure I didn't post as much as I did the day before.
Mylot said the star rating was not supposed to affect the earnings. As I said in another post, the very first day the star rating started I pm'd mylot and told them my concerns about this system. Of course they did not respond to me. I hope they are seeing these discussions. The other option is for others to message mylot and voice your concerns.

Patgalca, you are *so* sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how much your words of kindness mean to me ^_^ I actually had a six star rating two days ago! I was at least glad to see it go back up to seven yesterday. It really disheartens me, as I have never written short or meaningless posts on here, and I know that I have posted to a few controversial topics, but I never meant to hurt or upset anyone, if I did.
It's true that the star rating itself isn't supposed to affect earnings. But my theory is that our star rating goes up and down depending on how mnay plusses and minuses we receive, and I definitely believe that if we get a lot of plusses we earn more, and if we get minuses we may well earn less. That would make sense to me as to why I was earning a lot more when I was at 10 for so long. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.

Well if it helps I don't think your star rating has any thing to do with how much you get paid. I think Mylot is cutting down on their rates. Just seems lately I have not been doing so great even though I have been posting the same amount.
I am feeling the same way myself. However you are the second post to have posted this today, so you can't be alone.

Thank you! ^_^ I do believe that getting plusses and minuses effects our payment, though, and I am certain that it is linked to our star rating, so in my mind it makes sense that my rating going down would effect my earnings. But I could be wrong. It is just what I've been thinking. someone must have been giving me a lot of minuses in order to get me down three points, and if those minuses are affecting my earnings (which I believe they are) then it makes me really sad, because I really didn't mean to offend anyone. :(
I didn't see the other post that you are speaking of, but I will go look for it now. I really would like to hear about others who are going through the same thing that I am. It really is possible that a lot of people are seeing their earnings drop here, as you aren't the only one who has said something like this in reply to me.

Dont give up. Cheer up! I always try to read and rate your discussions. I always give you a positive rating. I wonder if some people take the time to rate or are in too big of a hurry. I think it is impossible to make everyone happy all the time. I am sorry you are feeling so "blah". I am way behind on mylot and on gather too. I will get more behind tomorrrow. I have to go to hospital and have a treatment and that takes everything out of me for a few days. I will check on you again in a few days. Hope you are feeling "chipper" by then.

Most of the smart contributors (like yourself) will sometimes run into a wall in the form of an obviously jealous person or persons who just want to make you feel poorly- you must not give them that satisifaction!
I'm sure that MyLot admin will ferret out those responsible, you are not the only one who has had 10 rating and now finds themself wondering why it's dropping...
Please buck up your courage and let "time wound those heels" and get back to posting the wonderful stuff that everyone enjoys! :)
When I feel that I need a break from MyLot, I head over to Day Tippers and see if I can post a few good tips, they pay $3.00 for each one they accept, and they always respond by email with an evaluation of your submission.
http://www.daytippers.com (There is no affiliate program) This is a neat way to dig into your " big bag of lessons" and possibly help someone with your good advice. They don't accept all tips, however, so be sure that your submissions are good and original.
This feedback can prove to be very soothing to a person who is sensitive and caring. It really is for me...

Oh, cool! Now that I have the correct link, I took a look at the Daytippers site, and some of the stuff that I saw posted on there was great - just the kind of stuff that I could imagine myself writing and getting paid for. However, it's hard for me to imagine doing it and not knowing for sure that I will get paid. On the other hand, think how many tips I could submit and not get paid and still come out even with how much I make here on Mylot, if I got paid even for one tip out of 100! *laugh* So that could work out nicely. I may look into the site further, later. I really appreciate your tip. Thank you! ^_^

I can not Imagine you upsetting anyone and I am starting to believe that someone is finding it funny to rate People minus as a couple of my Friends have dropped and I have to admit I am just waiting for it

Aw, thanks again! My rating did go up three points since yesterday. that's points, not numbers, of course.. I'm still at a seven. But I was at 67/100 yesterday, and now I am at 70/100. I really am surprised that it didn't go up a bit more than that, with all of the wonderful friends I have on here telling me that they were marking me, and in some cases marking everyone in this thread with plusses, yesterday! But I am just thankful and greatful to have the support of so many lovely people on here, and I feel *so* much better. I also earned more than I expected yesterday, and that makes me happy, even though I don't think that it was still more than two cents per post, which is still like I've been earning lately. But I hadn't expected it because most of it was earned replying to this thread, and I thought that we only got paid for the first response in a thread. Now I see that is not true! ^_^ So I mostly got paid yesterday for venting and getting to feel better, lol! And that makes me feel like yesterday was probably my best day ever on this site so far, simply because of the love and support around me in this thread! It really cheered me up immensely!!!! ^_^

I guess if you've been doing something for a while now you reach a point where you want to drop everything. However, i'm sure you will get your momentum again and be back here starting and answering discussions. please don't lose heart or us newbies may start having second thoughts about joining myLot (which i don't want to do).
