baby clothes, do they go out of style?

I had posted a few questions on here about baby clothes & such. I got a response about them going out of style. Do you think baby clothes go out of style? I don't see any difference in what I have from my 8 & 6 year old when they were babies & what is on the market now for my 5 week old (all girls). So do you think there is a style for baby clothes? If you do would you get rid of outgrown clothes even if you plan on having more kids because the clothes would be out of style?

Those are my thoughts too. Actually in some cases it seems like the style for baby girl clothes right now is hoochie mama. I would not dress my girl in that at any age. I would rather how out of style hand me downs than a baby that looks like a little street walker.

what does a baby care about fashion. Left to me i'll shop for my kids before they are born, a baby boy can wear a gals clothes there is no difference up until they are about 4.

No way. Onesies with ruffles on the rear NEVER go out of style. Blue jeans never go out of style, cute little summer dresses never go out of style. I definitly disagree. I mean, if we were dressing out infants in designer fashion jeans and one shoulder shirts, then I could see how they could go out of style...but most babies clothes are the basics. I was recently looking through my old baby clothes and my bro's baby clothes and, really, it's the same stuff that's at the stores today. Some of it is even cuter!

They don't go out of style! The only thing that problably went is like.. the 80s stuff. But now people don't really wear crazy things like that anymore lol. Keep em! I'm keeping EVERYTHING from my daughter for the next baby.

It does not really go out of style it just go to the closet for some time until the next one is born to use it. I think that those babies are the ones going out of style but not their baby's clothes.... greetings. : )

I don't think they do. Maybe the real expensive "trendy" stuff, but I never bought anything like that. I have a 15, 12 year old, and a 14 month old-all girls. I haven't noticed much difference now then what was out 15 years ago. My mom even had a couple of the really cute outfits saved, that we used on the new one. They're all lacy, frilly, pink, etc. It's the same.

I think I read that same response on one of your posts and was confused by it, as I never thought that baby clothes go out of style. I suppose one could say that an outfit from the 70's may be quite different than todays outfits, but maybe only in the colors they used, or patterns that were chosen (on particular outfits, the basics would still be the same) but I think the style of clothes are still the same, I mean, what else can you really do to a onesie? (:

some clothes go a bit out of style, but just like any clothes i think, but with kids its really what ever you want to put on them. but i have noticed young mums going by a fashion for their kids.

They grow out of them so fast anyway, I think it's a waste to spend lots of money on the newest and latest. I wouldn't know the difference between clothes from last year's line or those from 8 years ago.

i dont think they have a style. every year its almost the same style for baby clothes. it just a baby they dont need a style, all baby need is comfortable and warm, but it doesnt mean we can cover them with just a cloth or a blanket. every mom wont they baby look cute and pretty, isn't it? ^^

i think baby clothes go out of style because seeing my old pictures it is not the same as my two daughters' clothes. the one i used like 28-30 years ago are much thick and ruffled. today you can't just give ruffled clothing to babies because it will not be very comfortable for them. clothes today are much light and colorful and comfortable.

I have a 4 month old girl. Before she was born, I received a couple of hand-me-downs from my aunts kids (who were boys!). Being a girl, it's really nice to dress her up. But due to budget constraints, i had to use the stuff given to us. What I noticed is that, baby clothes don't really go out of fashion. Especially the onesies! In fact, the way our children are dressed reflects the parents fashion sense. Also, its just a matter of mix and match.

i don't think baby clothes go out of style. I have two girls, and i've kept a lot of clothes of my older daughter, and now my youngest is enjoying the outgrown clothes of her sister. For as long as the clothes don't look so "used", then i don't see any reason why your younger kids can't wear them.
