Does your pet do any unusual tricks?

I used to have a parakeet that loved playing peek-a-boo with a sock. When he was in the mood for it, he would jump up and down and screech until we put a sock on his head! Then we'd say "Where's Doogie?" and he'd be very quiet until we pulled the sock off and then he'd whistle very loud, and we'd say "THERE he is!" After a while, when we pulled the sock off, it sounded like he was trying to say "THERE he is!" the same way we did. It was just too cute, I tell ya! One day, Doogie saw his opportunity and flew out the door, never to return. We sure do miss him.

My cat plays fetch. She will bring her bells that we have attached to yarn to us, drop it at our feet and wait for someone to pick it up and throw it. She runs to fetch it and brings it back again. Hilarious.

Everyone who has responded to this discussion has had a cat that plays fetch! Of all the cats I've ever had, (and it's been a BUNCH of them), I've never seen one play fetch! Cool!

Oh my that is adorable! We had a dog who would do a trick called I called "Bronco". I'd stand next to her and gently touch her back, and say "Bronco, Maggie, Bronco!" and she's start running in a circle around me and buck her back up and down like a bucking bronco. She'd run around and around until I told her to stop. Maggie was also a rock diver. She never did like sticks or balls, but she loved rocks, especially underwater. We found this out once when hiking down the creek and we stopped to eat and started throwing rocks in the shallow water. She ran after, stuck her head down there and didn't come back up until she had the right rock. How she found the right one every time I will never know. Oh, and she also retrieved a brick this way once. One of our cats that we have now plays fetch. He's utterly addicted to fetch, he will bring us his fetch ball anytime he can, but mostly when we are on the toilet and he knows we are stuck throwing it for him or he won't leave us alone. I'm not sure if that's really unusual, our dogs used to fetch (well rocks anyways for maggie and the other never was that bright) and this is the first cat we've ever had that likes it more than the dogs ever did.

Haha! Your dog is groovy! Rock diving? That's awesome! And a cat that fetches? Weird!

I had a kitty who loved playing fetch! She had a fascination with match books and any time she found one she would bring it to me. One day, I was trying to sleep and she kept bringing me match books, so I threw it. She went and fetched it and dropped it on my head, so I the matchbook again and low and behold, she came right back with it. My friends were amused and always got a blast out of making her fetch.
