I was a waitress in a rather disreputable cafe with a clientele that was almost exclusively "rockers". My parents would have had a fit, but I enjoyed myself immensely and the money was very handy. This fun came to an abrupt end when my Mother managed to get me a Saturday job at the local shop, which was about the same money and wasn't a three mile walk, but it wasn't the fun either, as everyone there knew me, and my parents, so I had to be on my best behaviour. I often wonder whether she did know about the cafe job and got me the job at the shop to bring it to an end without a right! Whatever, I really enjoyed my first jobs, and finally left shop work to start work as a secretary, after I studied for the qualifications for two years. Thank you for this post, it has brought back a whole bundle of very happy memories.

My first job was a student helper job at the university medical school when I was in college. I really liked it and most of the people I worked with. However I wish I'd put more time and effort into it. I could make my own hours and I could have used the money. I also could have used a better experience with having to report on time. It would have helped me out in all my other jobs. :(

My first job was at the library as a book shelver. I loved that job and wish I could have stayed working there. Howeve, the hours didn't work with my college schedule and then I moved on to work in the public in a restuarant, retail store and then a grocery store.

My very first job was an english tutor to two Korean girls. They were in their 20's that time. And I was just in my first year as a college student. I taught them for only 2 hours a day after my classes in school. I honestly had a great time with them. However, the main problem was they don't have the same level of understanding the language. My one student was really advance. She can speak fluently. It's just that she still commit some petty grammatical errors. So, I decided to separate their classes. And it really worked. I was there teacher for about one semester. That was totally unforgettable.

My first job? Wow, that was like ages and ages ago! I'm 35 now, and my first was when I was 18. I was actually a secretary too, strange for a bloke I know, but I can touch type and have the secretarial skills, I was only there for 13 months but it was great, having my own office at 18 was great! The pay was good and it was local too, it was an agricultural firm that dealt with fertilizers and stuff, not very interesting but it was a job.

My first job after I graduated college was a customer service officer at asiatrust bank and sometimes I acted as a teller when one of the teller is not around. On the other hand my first job part-time after I graduate high school during a summer vacation was a trimmer on a caps factory where one of my aunt was a supervisor and she let me have a summer job.
