I have been observing here the above fact irrespective of the person who has initiated the discusion. Are People cool and simple? or they do not want to think loud? or is it because they are for some quick money here?

I think it's a mixture of all of those reasons ... cool and simple .. do not want to think loud .. just here for some quick money .. !! I think in all honesty if we answer the more serious questions truthfully we are 'giving away' a little clue about ourselves each and every time .. some folks do not want to allow others to start to make up a picture of who they really are .. or rather what they are really like .. from the snippets of information we give away when answering some questions .. But I would think that generally a lot of folks are here just to make money .. they have stock answers that they give to several similar discussions (or in some cases simply copy and paste others careful and well thought out replies, and you know who you are .. so stop it !!!) ... Of course for those folks who only reply to friends discussions you will see the same groups of people popping up in the same authors discussions ..

Your observations are sharp. After i got many replies here i tried to glance through the nil response discussions in mylot. I was amazed! Those were the best of the lot i have seen. Some of them very deep and some others that demands a little bit of effort to reply. That is why i find the stock reply group keep away from such queries and find solace in answering yes or No. Anyway Mylot is nurturing all groups here and there lies the dignity of this forum.

I think the easy questions are answered more because people want to answer quickly to be able to put in more postings or responses. The easier the question or discussion, the easier the answer. But those are the same people that do not get the dull benefit of being a part of this community. They zoom through discussions and have no clue who the people are that they are responding to. And even though I know we are all strangers when we meet. I like to be able to say that I do know my friends here well or on my way to getting to know them. And in turn, with my responses and the thought I have put into them, I would hope that my friends are getting to know me also! It is nice to be able to meet with a group of people we are familiar with and just be able to talk about different subjects. And this is exactly what the myLot community is! So for those that only answer the easy questions....you are truly missing out. :)

They are all of what you mention and more. My responses come over time with my best discussion last weekend about school lunches getting healthier. That must have touched some lives. It depends on your friends. They should support your discussions. Not all do. There seems to be no hard and fast rule or we would know it now and have top discussions all the time. That would not keep it fun for us now would it?

May be i need to take a lesson or two from you. it is true that we need to build a healthy group. An open question in a mixed forum may not find much takers but the same in a suitable and appropriate forum may be well received. Thanks for the wise guidance. And thank you for your nice responses always.

The answer to each of your question is YES. A lot of people has poor english knowledge (like me) and we like simple discussions, not the complicated. If I spend too much time with thinking and translating I do not earn. I would not spend so many time with posting, if I did not earned with it.

Yes it is a combination of reasons , but still tyhe initiator gets demotivated by getting few response for his/her favourite postings. May be we need to find a place for such things. My space??

I follow your observation recently till today. It is really disappointing that many good posts gets little responses. And the nonsensical ones gets plenty of responses equally nonsensical. We can help mylot to be a better discussion forum by trying not to post nonsensical posts and ignore such. Another way is also to come up with at least one good and quality discussion each day. In this way, we can drown the valueless ones.

I think some people are to lazy to actually take a minute to think of a good response to a discussion so the go to the yes or no ones.

I answer and respond to discussions that I can relate to or am interested in. I don't think I really choose between simple, hard, etc. If I can help someone or give them some feedback on a topic, I will respond to them with no problems.
