I have heard loads of people raving about firefox. Could some firefox users tell me why they prefer to use it?

Its fast, its customizable, its clean, and its stable. It gets less runtime errors than IE, and it has tabbed browsing. It also has extensions that let you add more featuers on to Firefox to make it much more powerful and useful.

Thanks, good concise answer - still some debate about the speed though... some people claiming it's faster, some it's slower...my guess is that the speed difference is probably indiscernable in reality, hence the confusion? IE7 has tabbed browsing also, have you tried it? What extensions have you used?

I prefer Firefox because it has tabs, which makes surfing a lot easier. It also has custom themes and plug-ins, so those are very nice features as well. With plug-ins, you can block banners, pop-ups etc. :)

OK, I think those features, tabs and pop-up blockers are now in IE7, but FF was there first..

Firefox is the best browser for quite sometime. As mentioned it has numerous superiority over IE 6 which forced Microsoft to field some similar capability in IE 7. It has an integrated pop-up blocker, search engine and other various goodies. And there is a ocean of add-ons and plug-ins. But the best thing of Firefox is the security. It is a very secured browser. Many of friend have lost their money due to poor security of IE. On the co side it eats up more memory than IE which slows down old PCs a bit

Ok that's quite a good balanced view and actually suggests that whilst FF may be more secure, it may be a little slower - I think you could be on to something there...

This firefox browser seems only different to me, perhaps not better. Maybe there are features that people like and some they don't. IE is no different. I use both. Firefox is probably more secure.

OK thanks, your response sounds a bit more balanced than those who are obviously for or against IE/FF for whatever reason

i think it have better performance than the explorer by only speed , because the explorer is a part of the user interface it has to carry out both the interface use and the browsing there fore its getting slow

There is no reason to use it .IE is much better. Why do you think WINDOWS doesn't come with FIREFOX ? . I've had them both and IE is much faster.
@livewyre (2450)

I thinks Windows doesn't come with firefox because Microsoft wants you to use IE !! Thanks for your input, I am doing fine with IE, but I think I should at least try FF just to see what all the fuss is about.

I've got both IE 7 and Firefox. I feel firefox is twice as good as IE. It gives a personal feel and has high speeds. Space required is also less!

OK Thanks for that - I wonder what you mean about personal feel?
