A venting

You don't have to respond if you don't want to. I just need to vent. Now I find out my husband is diabetic, on top of his job loss. $$$ meds? Sometimes I am very unhappy with this health system in USA. And, I am sick of MyLot too. My numbers have gone down 100 points today. I'm sick of it. That is a lot of hours. Okay, I'm done. Sorry.

I am sorry you are having a hard time. You mustn't give up. There are lots of programs that will help pay for the meds. Check with your Dr to find out what is available in your area. Also, you can usually get the machine to check his sugar with for free. I got mine free. I am thinking of you.

Thank you so much for you kind words to my sister. You are right, they are having a very hard time right now and the past few years they have had more than their share! I have had a hard time understanding it too! It just doesn't seem fair! It just never seems to end and Margieanne is having trouble handling it because of that. I mean really having problems! She is the most spiritual person I have ever known and yet she has told me in no certain terms not to preach to her, and that is not her. So thank you so much for your support. God Bless you. Dee

Hi margie. When it rains it pours here also. We cannot even afford health insurance right now either. MY husbands employer provides it for him but for family insurance, it is like $600.00 a month. You're not leaving mylot are you? did your numbers go down 100 points from posts you already made? If so, oh my.

Well, I can relate with where you are coming from, as I have been there with No Meds, and Diabetic issues myself. It was not an easy time at all. One actually I am glad I am thru with, and have never understood why there is not more help readily available for people with Diabetes who cannot afford their Medications. Don't they realize this is the same as Cancer, etc. just might not be as fast to harm yourself and do damage that could kill you later. You need to find a Dr. that will work with you. Someone who has Free Med samples they can give your husband. At least this will keep him able to take care of the underlying problem of how to keep himself treated. I do agree there needs to be more done. I am Praying for you, and wishing you the best. Just when you think you have seen the worst, something will come around to change it.

Waht can I say? I can only symaphatise with you. I know a little about the health system in the USA. My son married a girl from Minnesota and she suffers from MS. Because she could not afford her medical expenses in the USA, they both had to come to live in Ireland. It broke her heart to leave her family, but at least here in Ireland, she is receiving free treatment for her condition. It is extremely unfair that in such a rich country, your husband cannot receive free treatment. Sorry too about your points. You seem to having a tough time of it lately. I will pray that things will improve for you and your husband.

That is terrible. Is he going to have to take insulin or can it be managed with diet. Probably too early to tell. My points didn't go down today but yesterday I answered someones post and I didn't get credit. Don't know what went wrong.

It is okay to vent as you certainly have the right to do that and am sorry that your husband is diabetic. I hope that somehow he will find a job so that he can get his medications so he will be okay. The health system in this country as gotten worse for sure. I agree with you a lot on that, especially the cost. I am just amazed that your points keep going down. You always contribute quality posts and topics. You do work very hard on here.

I'm sorry that you're going through all this now. I don't know how it works in the USA, is there some sort of program that will pay for your meds? Luckily they can do a lot to control diabetes these days. I hope all will turn out well for you. As for MYLOT, how does one lose points?

Hey there. Everybody needs to vent. I dont blame you for being upest about things, sometimes things are just so hard. Venting helps get it off the chest, and is very stress releaving too. So dont be sorry. LOL. At least you have somewhere to go to vent, and I dont mind at all. Take care.

Diabetes - Diabetes is a disease in which the blood sugar is abnormally high, due to a deficiency or resistance to the action of a hormone called Insulin.
I am diabetic, Its just another of the side effects that I got from when the Doctors treated my Cancer. They never tell you that do they? When I found out that I had Cancer seven years ago, It just seemed one mad rush of treatments, An eight hour op called a Wertheim's hysterectomy and six weeks in hospital to cut the cancer out, Then another six weeks of chemo and radio therapy treatments. It Left me alive but with IBS, chronic Lymphoedema in both legs, bladder problems, depression and a very early menopause… I am now classed as disabled and can no longer work. sorry, seems I needed to vent as well This may help you... What is Diabetes? http://www.pamf.org/diabetes/profile_diagnosed.html

Everyone thinks in Canada that our medical expenses are all covered. There are many things that are not. We still pay ridiculous prices for eye care. Medication is outrageous. Right now we have an income of just under 1400 per month for a family of 3 (5 on the weekends when my kids are here). This doesn't begin to cover our expenses as it is 300 short of our BASIC needs per month. On top of this I take $175 PER WEEK for meds just by myself. My husbands meds cost about $150 per month. We eat from the food bank. I just cut my internet expenses in half by changing providers. Not bad I got better speed for less money. Anyway, the biggest layout of cash is for meds EVERY WEEK, and then the insurance gives us back 80%. Fact is, this is above our monthly budget, so the money comes in wherever we can get a little extra cash. We're living way below the poverty level. The thing that I am sick of is people giving me advice how to save money and cut expenses. Like we haven't done everything possible.

Lord, touch her and her family, and meet their needs please. In Jesus's name I thank you, Amen

Margieanne, I don't even know what I could say to make you feel better. I know that you must feel overwhelmed and extremely frustrated right now. I just read through the posts here, and you have tons of support at MyLot! Don't even think of leaving us! Your sister also seems to be very supportive, and it makes me feel better to know that you have her. Most often a newly diagnosed adult Diabetic with type II Diabetes can be managed with the proper diet alone, or with a minimum amount of medication. Be sure to speak with the doctor and see if there are samples of medications available or if there are generics which would be cheaper. Many of the pharmaceutical companies also offer discount or free medications to those in need, and the doctor's office could link you up with those services. You will probably need to meet with a dietician to learn about the diet your husband needs to follow, and maybe she can set you up with some food pantry services for free groceries, since it is more expensive to eat healthy foods. Don't be shy about asking them for help- you will never know what help is available if you don't ask. You need to take care of yourself, also. Be sure you're eating and getting enough sleep. Don't worry about MyLot. Maybe you should concentrate on starting discussions, letting us post in them, and try posting more to other people's discussions (instead of commenting in your own) for a while just to build up your points and to maximize your earnings. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Laurie

I'm so sorry. You are certainly under a black cloud please try and remember, even although it is hard now, that every cloud has a silver lining. I don't say this as a platitude but because I have been in your shoes. How could you lose 100 point surely myLot didn't delete a 100 discussions????? Once again I wish they would let you know which discussions caused the loss.

That's terrible, maybe the doctor can give you samples that they have to last for a while. I know mine does that. Sorry you lost so many points. I think it's the cleanup mylot does before paying. You probably responded to discussions that got deleted. I'm seeing alot of complaints about this today and yesterday. I fortunatly haven't lost any as of yet. Hope you feel better, I'm having a really bad day myself, drowning in depression.
