Which Stephen King book really freaked you out?

Many myLot users seem to have Stephen King as one of their favorite authors. Now, which book by him have you read that really freaked you out? My personal Stephen King freak-out book was "The Tommyknockers" around the time when I was in high school. I was reading it in the middle of the night and got up to get a glass of water before finally heading off to DreamLand (or is it NightmareLand? haha!). It was drinking up when I happened to glance out the kitchen window and it was pitch dark outside, and my imagination kicked into overdrive: what if I saw someone turned alien-like like in the book? What if there was someone out there right now looking in at me, and seeing me? For some weird reason, that thought raised my hackles and I beat it to my bedroom in a jiff! I slept with the covers over my head. :)

The Long Walk. I can't take a walk without thinking about it. That story was disturbing and gripping.

Ooo, I totally agree. That was one freaky story. I have only read it once but feel like I could tell it nearly verbatium 20 years later!

I'm not sure if freaked me out is the right term but Gerald's Game really disturbed me.. the one book that I just couldn't bring myself to finish.. and that never happens.. even if I don't like a book usually I finish it but this one was just too much for me...

Yeah that's pretty creepy, especially the part where the main character looks into the shadows and sees a figure there.. scary! Did you know it links up with events happening in another novel, "Dolores Claiborne"?

I think two of my favorites are IT and The Tommyknockers. Although I love all his books. None of them have really freaked me out. But I guess I don't get freaked out easily from books.

I love "IT" myself, and all his books. :) I got freaked out when I was really just getting into him, but when you get used to his writing style, it's very rare to get freaked out with his works.

The Regulators kept me awake for 3 days then i threw it away only to go back to reading it 3 days after. It really freakd me out. It was about this town where an autistic kid was somehow 'possessed' by an entity that drain's people's lives. and eventually it was able to manifest the kid's thoughts but turn it evil. i was really really really freaked out. It was written under his pseudo though and not as stephen king.

That would be IT for me. That one really gave me the creeps. Of course Gerald's Game was excellent too and gave me shivers but nothing like IT did. Then again I hate clowns, very afraid of them, so that one really dealt with my fears. I was reading it while working midnights and I had to clean showers, the huge mens ones like a gymn locker...oh yeah I was at the part with the locker room in the book. I never cleaned those showers so fast in my life.
