cilantro - cilantro in a pot

Some herbs like cilantro, baisil, mint etc are very important for our cooking. These are small things we need for cooking, but it's not that cheap. To save some doller monthly we can grow them at home. As they don't need much place, we can put them in a pot also. Do you grow your herbs at home?

I do not have the window space nor the amount of sun needed to support the growth of herbs. In the summer months I have sage, mint and basil in my garden.

It isn't easy to find the kinds of herbs that don't like a lot of sunshine. I tried peppermint but they didn't make it.

I love gardening, I grow sage, mint, chives, parsley, lavendar and rosemary just outside my back door. I am going to have a go at garlic this year. I also grow red and green peppers they were lovely last year so will be growing them again. What is cilantro? I have not heard of this one

Don't currently do so, it is a great idea to use these to lower the use of salt. They add a new dimension of flavor to a dish. Normally they are not hard to care for either. Many will cohabit in a larger pot together if you know the ones with similar needs. A truly worthwhile thing to do. You local herb farm can teach you which ones need what and what varieties will give you the taste that you want.

Good day SweetLady. I haven't at this point but we have the space in our yard now for a garden this year and in would say that in just a few shorts months I will be starting somethings indoors and herbs will be among them. I am quite excited. We are going to have a tasty summer this year.

Well being a guy I don't know about cooking. If these herbs are needed for cooking and one can grow them at home then it should be done. That way we can have them fresh and also save some money. Seems these herbs don't require more space. Do you grow them at your home?

Oh yes herbs are needed for cooking. Without herbs you will not get the real test of a dish.

I have grown mint and Garlic at my home, but these are very sensitive herbs, they want more care and expertee to how to care these herbs.

In the summer months we try to grow some herbs outdoors. One summer, before we discovered that mint would grow profusely and take over the entire garden, it did just that! We had mint everywhere! We use a container for it now! I wish I could grow some herbs indoors during the winter but my cat won't leave them alone! We love cooking with herbs and could certainly save money by growing our own!

Yes I do. I grow mint and rosemary, and lavendar in my garden. I think everything tastes much nicer if the produce has been grown at home, without the use of any chemicals.
