Phone Ringing

How many times do you allow a phone to ring before you answer it? Part 2: Do you screen your calls or do you answer them regardless of who they are? I try to answer on ring 2 at work and by ring 4 at home. Yes, I do screen my calls. Does that make me a bad person. Please get back to me on this. I'm trying to figure out if I fit in with the norm.

My answering machine, if there are no previous messages, answers the phone after 5 rings, & 2 rings if there's a previous, 'unheard' message. I usually let the answering machine answer it. If it's someone I want to talk to, that being a friend or a co-worker, I pick up, apologizing for being on the other end of the house & not being able to get to the phone sooner. If it's a telemarketer or an automatic recording, I just leave it & go back to what I was doing.

Good way to deal with it. I'm on a do-not-call list, so I don't receive many telemarketers. It the Blood Bank that call us multiply times a day! I've even asked to be put on their restricted registry~~~ to no avail. Now, my teen daughter runs for the phone, so I don't even have to deal with them. Thanks for the reply.

I've only got a mobile so the caller always shows anyway. I've got one of those flip-phones which has a screen on the front to say who's calling. Sometimes I let it ring for a while because I like listening to my ringtone! But I often answer as soon as it rings. I won't answer calls if I don't recognise the number if I don't have time for them
