Medical Insurance - Pre Existing Illness - NO COVERAGE

Some of us are very fortunate to be healthier then others. Some of us are lucky enough to have a spouse that can cover Him or Her on their insurance. Some of us still can work and cover an Insurance Policy. Regardless of all of those issues one day you might have to look for Health Insurance. Do you think it is fair for an Insurance Company to deny you just because you have a pre existing illness ?

Yes of course it is. The insurance company can only exsist because some people will never use their sevice (someone has to lose money in order for someone else to gain it). So of course they should not let people in who they know they will have to lose money on.

I respect your point of few. But I have a pre-existing illness and I do not think it is fair now that I cannot get Insurance. I worked over 20 years and its not my fault I have an incurable disease

My ex partner of some years back kept encouraging me to get health insurance, but I knew the problems that would arise but I eventually gave in and we had a representative come round to see us, as soon as I told him I had thyroid problems there was a glazed look on his face and I knew what he would say, it was pointless. Needless to say I didn't take out health insurance because I had a pre-existing illness, it is not fair! And even the doctor when I have a problem it's always my thyroid, you can't win!

My mother has this problem. She has a blood disorder. She was hospitalized once with blood clots in her lungs and now has to take cumadin(?) for the rest of her life. When she was dropped from my father's cobra insurance after their divorce she could not find anyone willing to cover her. She now has part time insurance thru her job, but it is not very good and will not cover anything from her pre existing condition for the first year.
