How do you make your spouse eat as the doctor ordered? I'd like to know, my hubby is so used to our country way of cooking and eating, he has a hard time with any kind of diet for his diabetes, heart condition, or high blood pressure! He wants his gravy and biscuits and fried chicken!

Wow that is a very serious issue. It is hard to give up the things you love because of health issues. Trust me I know. It all comes down to discipline. I don't think you can really make him change his diet without him kicking and screaming. He's just going to have to realize the importance. Then he has to want to do it. Wish I could give you some secret solution but it is what it is. By the way, your profile looks great. What did you want to change?

Same problem here! When i tell him he can't eat a certain thing, he gets mad! Go figure! But i've heard that a lot of diabetic people are this way, it's like they are angry at the world for their condition..

That's it! He's mad at ME, and it's not my fault, I'm just doing the best I can! I fix baked coated chicken now, and baked coated fish, and I scramble eggs with non stick spray instead of butter, he eats it! I wish all diabetics out there who have other people care for them, to think for a minute about their caregiver! Topic for another discussion, maybe.
