I love swimming it's my favorite sport and it helps alleviate the pain that scoliosis constantly brings to my spine. I cannot play bowling as the weight of the ball is concentrated on one hand/shoulder therefore making my right shoulder hurt a lot. But if I do not have scoliosis I'll probably enjoy bowling, so for now I just play bowling on computer games.

I have Degenerative Disc Disease (a spinal problem) which causes alot of pain so therefore Im unable to play sports.
My daughter how ever played Netball until last year when she broke her elbow during a game, so now she's had to retire. But as a family (my son and I) attended each game and watched her (well I did and my son went off to play with other children most of the time).
My son wants to play soccor but cant as we live in a rural location so there arent the numbers available for a team unless we travel over an hour and a half (one way) for training then again for the game, which is too much.
I like to play darts and the kids come to watch.
But as a family sport Id have to say, walking around our farm, feeding animals, and talking about the forrest, animals and life is what we do daily.
Our walks generaly take no less than 2 hours so its great.

My family likes both but I swimming would probably be first choice. My husband was a Marine so swimming has been big for him. He has taught our kids how to swim like a "Marine" except a little more gentle than how he was taught. ;)
It is really good exercise but yes, it get's expensive if you go a lot. We don't go a lot but I wish we could go more often. We always have fun when we do go.
