When I had my heart attack 3 years ago I didn't have near as much arthritic pain as I do now but I really don't know if I want to take more meds than I am taking. Do you know any help that doesn't require more drugs?

I have had Rhuematoid arthritis for years. Have taken a lot of different meds. Have been on prednsone for years. Went to the Dr. last week and found out that turmeric is equal but not as strong and does not have the same side effects. You might want to give it a try. It was listed in his pill book as being for real and not a wives tale.

It has been my experience that if your arthritis hurts you when you are sitting stil, moving around doens't really help. YOu can try heat, cold, exercise. Some people swewar by glucosamine but I think their pain must no be that intense if that works for them. I don't have any heart issues that I know of and have suffered from chronic pain since 1986. I have arthritis and spinal stenosis in my neck. I wen tfor years trying alternatives and combinations of exercise and other htings and now have to take vicodin to keep hte pain under control on a daily basis. I am sure you can identify with pain that gets more intense with a change in the barometric pressure. If you cannot brings yourself to take something as strong asn vicodin you might thry rubbing some essential oils at the sites where you have your greatest pain. Orange essential oil, lavender, clary sage, and a few others are good when blended with a base oil like sweet almond oil. I suggest you look around and afew sites that talk about those oils and others for that matter. I can get together a fes liks I have for pain sites online if you like.
